To the Bell-Millionaires

I'm not sure there's virtually any use for a billion bells if we're speaking strictly in-game, no villagers or anything. Even houses don't require that much.

this is what I was mostly wondering about. simply what is the point of having all that money in the game? it seems there's a badge you get for having 100 million, but besides that...I worry the game would become boring having such a crazy amount of money. no saving up to buy anything and maybe it loses that special feeling

Well, when I was able to save up more than 100m, I did lessen my play time a bit, just cause I thought it's game over, nothing more to do. But not everything is about the money really.. I eventually realized I still have an encyclopedia to complete, a catalog to fill, badges to obtain, and not to mention, redecorate my town in accordance to the current season, which means new landscaping(which could cost a lot in the forums), new paths (which take some time to search online or draw), etc... Bells are not as useful if you were to think of using it strictly in-game, but ACNL isn't really a game that you play alone, so yeah, a lot of bells are useful to be able to competitively trade here in the forums, as well as get dreamies, etc... This game is basically what you make of it, it's your choice what to do with it, and in my opinion, that's what makes it special.

A lot of bells didn't stop me from playing. Bells don't get you badges, grow hybrids yourself and get all the items for your museum.
Museums and growing all types of hybrids on my own are done.
I have 3 more badges for the mayor and than have my other towns to work on.
Plus my extra players bug collection to add to.
