To reset or buy a second copy?

Hi! Lately I have been struggling with whether or not I should reset my game or buy a second copy. I want a new map and new placements for everything but at the same time I have accomplished a lot in my town and do not want to lose all of that. But if I am going to start over why not just do it on the same copy and not buy a new one? What do you guys think I should do? Thanks in advance!

If you buy a second copy, are you going to continue to play your first one? If not, I wouldn't. You can always get someone to hold your stuff.

My main thought is if I am going to start over I should just do it on the same copy but things like the villager pictures are something I wouldnt want to lose but other than that everything else I would be fine with losing even event exclusive items

At first, I wanted a second copy because I didn't particularly like my first town after having it since the release date. I ended up restarting instead, but I haven't regretted it since. Everything can be regained. That was my thought process.

If that is the case, I would reset! In my old town, I faced the same situation, but I just had someone hold some of my items, and I gave them all of my bells as a tip. If you really don't like your town layout, then the only way to change it is to reset. I tried not to reset for a couple of weeks, but I finally realized that the sooner you reset, the sooner you can start creating your new town and saving up bells!

i made a similar thread yesterday. it took me 15 hours but now i finally am done getting all my things out, all my dreamies in one town, and can reset it to bring them back to my original town ;A;!
