I finally want to start an ACNL Tumblr, mostly to share my art/experiences in the game! c: Does anyone have any tips for getting started?

I don't have any tips, but I want to start a ACNL tumblr too so Imma stalk this thread c;
Dont mind me though.

One key think I've picked up is have a good theme/layout. If something isn't easy to navigate, then it makes people want to go there/browse less :)

[here's mine if you wanna look: http://streetpassers.tumblr.com]

If you want a lot of followers (or any followers) put yourself out there. Visit people's dream towns and post reviews, ask other acnl blogs questions, reply on posts (whether by the reply button or reblogging). Make friends and talk to people. This is a HUGE key to helping out your blog and possibly developing your town (you can pick up pointers from other towns).

There are so many themes in tumblr, you will probably go through a lot of different themes until you find the perfect one. That's okay. Pick a theme that resembles your town, your posts (esp. if you filter them), and YOU! Pick a theme that's aesthetically pleasing to you so that way you check up on it more!

Follow a **** ton of blogs, and I mean a ****. ton. Keep your dash busy, so that way there are always things to look at/reblog when you get bored or run out of posts! An active dashboard is an active blog! I have had this particular ACNL blog for maybe 1-2 weeks, and I already follow almost 90 blogs. When tumblr recommends me ACNL blogs, I just click follow right away. You can always unfollow them later if you don't like their posts! Plus, by following all these users, you're also putting yourself out there (as spoken about in paragraph 1), which can also lead to more followers!

If you have giveaways while your blog is still "young" (In ACNL blogs, I'd call that ~100 or less followers), partner up with a bigger blog (I would recommend 300+). More dashboards, more notes, more people discovering you, more entries, new friends... Seriously, name ONE downside! Giveaways are cool for everyone x

Pick a clear, readable username, preferably no underscores or numbers. Would you rather follow milkycrossing or milky_crossing5489? Make sure your username is simple to remember too; would it be easier to remember milkycrossing or myacnlmilkytown? Think as if you were the follower while creating your username. Try to pick a relevant username too, usernames like bradpittismybae would be very misleading to an acnl blog looking for more people to follow.

Hope this helped!!
