Looking for some tips on how to improve my town, Wolfmoor! I'm trying to go for a zen theme, also I need new paths xD. Yes, I'm missing 3 dreamies left :P. Will pay 100TBT to the person who helps the most/someone!
Thanks so much! Any tips will be loved.
Dream address is 6000-5880-3680

Here is a cute QR code Tumblr! There are lovely designs on here ♥

I am about to go to practice right now but heres an idea for zen, have a relaxing bath area with the outdoor bath PWP, Zen garden, stone stepping patterned QR codes, Lucky clovers, Zen lamps, and then behind this little secret park there can be a Bus station (in this case it will go as a little changing nook and you can wrap a bathrose and slippers to put in the PWP).

Hope you take my idea to mind, sorry for not visiting! Hopefully you'll pick me c:

Thanks for the ideas! But I'm really looking to pick someone who visits my town :3.
I will take a look at the QR codes!

I'll help get ya started with paths at least. Since you're going for a zen type of theme, I'd recommend looking through these tags, especially the garden and dirt path ones! http://acnlpaths.tumblr.com/links

On to your town...

Since you're going for a zen theme, I would recommend taking out those rainbow colored paths and perhaps inserting a little moat water path right around your town tree, and then placing green grass tile paths over the stone. You can also surround the perimeter of the plaza with various bushes and trees as well.

Flowers are key too! If you want to go for a more naturistic theme, then stick to the more natural colored flowers, with maybe some black flowers mixed in as well. The lilies are great too for having non-natural colors and still looking natural, so I'd go for lots of those as well. You can also plant bushes and trees on the outside of your paths. Another tip for the outside of the paths would be to start growing bamboo, let it grow one stage up, then cut it down. It gives you this cool brown color with some tiny leaves hanging off of it and it just adds greatly to the zen theme. You can always use those to surround the cafe if you want!

Since your theme is more zen like, I'd probably demolish the illuminated arch. It kinda contrasts with that kind of theme. Oh, and I'd also recommend updating your DA in the evening so that the moody foresty zen feel comes out even better. Add some more campy stuff around your campsite too c: Surround it with perfect apple trees and bushes, and maybe get some lucky clovers to plant down around it as well. You can also find some really neat rock tiles to use in these areas.

Speaking of lucky clovers, you can also alternate and use those as a pathing means as well, especially in foresty areas. I'd make everything below Whitney's home a forest type of area, with lots of trees and flowers and clovers. Maybe invest in the bonfire PWP for the campsite too?

The areas near where your two other playable character's houses are at are looking kind of sad with the grass wear, so try to go for some trees and bushes and flowers around there too to cover up the dirt patches. Oh, and maybe think about replacing your cobblestone bridges for the suspension or wooden ones. You can also have a row of trees and bushes leading up to your home, with maybe lucky clovers on the ground serving as a path towards your home. You can also place flowers around the villagers houses, perhaps even ones that correspond with the color of their homes? Like maybe blue and black flowers for Lobo's home, etc.

Basically, add a lot of greenery and get your pattern mules going with lots of zen type of patterns and you'll be good!

Thanks so much for your help! I'm struggling with flowers ect due to me not buying stuff from other towns. So I can't buy any hybrid flowers :/. Yes those paths were more of a 'placeholder' thing! Thanks for the QR codes, I shall check through that! Yep I can try with the bamboo. I'm always scared I might forget about it or something though :P. TIY just opened, so I can try and get some stuff from there. I know about the arch xD. But I don't know what else to put there.
I really don't know if I can actually change the bridge, due to the houses of some villagers.
My plan was to make the whole town forest themed with log benches and stuff. I will try though! Thanks so much for your help. Thank you! Will maybe wait for a few more reviews before choicing, but your help was really good!

Visiting your town! :) I think for a zen theme, a pattern like this would look really great: http://acnlpaths.tumblr.com/post/116315825052/kitsune-gari-as-promised-ive-uploaded-the-qr

I think some flowers would look lovely around your dreamie's houses. For me the best zen feeling flowers would be lilies and violets. They both have a very natural feeling to them.

One thing that stood out to me is I think you should move where you zen garden is. I think it would look more scenic if it was further away from your path. You could decorate around it with other PWPs nearby like a zen clock, zen streetlight, or zen bell. I think cut off bamboo would look lovely around the zen garden as well. You have a lot of space where you could put this new zen garden area, I'd suggest just pushing it back, maybe the area where Rowan's house is once he moves out.

Also, I think leaving your cobblestone without patterns on them would look best for a zen theme. Like, not putting a pattern on top of the area around Retail, Tree Plaza, etc. would look nice and natural with your theme.

Continuing on, I think an area to sit next to the cafe would look nice, like a metal bench for instance. I think that would look good with your zen theme.

I agree that the illuminated items should go, since they may contrast with the zen theme. Instead, I would suggest a wisteria trellis or flower arch. Since you said you want your town to be forest themed as well, I think these PWPs would look good.

I like your placement of the fence PWP, since you said you were going for a forest theme, I think it matches that well. To continue with that theme, I'd suggest putting a log bench somewhere in front of it with perhaps a zen streetlight nearby as well.

You have a lot of space to the right of your town hall, so I think this area has a lot of potential to be a nice PWP area. I don't think the solar panel would match with your theme, but I like your placement of Resetti. In this area, I think you could have a zen bell and zen bench with cut off bamboo around.

You have a good amount of space around your campsite as well, and the placement of the campsite is very good. I'd suggest a well and log bench area nearby.

I think the yellow bench looks good with Chief's house, but I think you have a good space to the right to decorate it further. Perhaps a windmill or wind turbine would look nice, especially with the waterfall there.

I really like the location of all of your houses. I think in the path up to Tamsyn's house, a wisteria trellis would look nice.

A bus stop PWP would fit well with your town theme. I'd suggest putting one somewhere near the train station, either to the left of it or along the path leading up to it.

I think bushes along your paths would look great as well.

Hopefully this advice helped, and best of luck on continuing your town! :)

I don't need any TBT or anything - I just wanted to show you some cool ideas to help inspire you. :)

Ahh thanks! Yeah, I'm gonna get some bushes for my town :3.
I'm thinking red hibisus. Thanks so much! It's a half zen theme thing, so not exactly but I want it forest like/calming.

I just updated it again!!!

hello! I've just visited and here are my thoughts! These are me going off the assumption that you're going for a zen/forest/natural feel in your town, right?
-path! Brick paths seem more city-like, even with these dark browns/red/yellows. If you're wanting to use actual QRcode paths, I suggest switching over to something with stone, moss, or wood. Or ditch the QR paths and go with natural dirt!
-bland. Needs more variation and needs to be filled in! More cedars if you're going for a forest look and/or bamboo for the zen/natural feel. Along paths, I like to cut the bamboos down when they still have the brown leaves on them so the color matches with my theme & so they don't sprout new bamboos and so you don't have this big bamboo blocking your view!
- no "events", for lack of a better word. Or presentation? For example, theres nothing really going on at your train station. I personally like to border areas like this so it feels like a set space, if that makes any sense. I would add maybe a bench/tree stump near your train station as well as your cafe. Gyroids next to the cafe for Brewster!
-no flower theme. I know some people don't mind having all the colors, but I personally love a good flower theme/combo. I think the blacks,reds/yellows, and whites look good year round. Play with flower color and species combos! Find a set that goes with your theme and stick to it!
- the main house could look more like a zen place/cabin. I think it's high up enough on the map for cedars, so I would put a lot around it.
-create little sections of your town. I feel like the paths are a bit too direct, I keep wanting to go off and find something, but theres nothing to find!

Go to dream towns for inspiration! I also have a forest/zen/natural town theme so you could always visit that! (it's still a WIP but it's more developed) Also theres masterpost on tumblr with both natural and hacked forest towns! Search for ACNL Forest Town Masterlist.

Hope I've helped in some way! Good luck with your town! I hope you end up happy with it! :D

Not 100% zen xD. Just more calming and smooth/forestry. I can't really find a path that I like so I used that for now as its autum themed! The only reason I have loads of PWP's is so I can get the Perfect town rating, then I will focus more on the PWP. I can't really have flowers because it would take me forever to breed them :/.
I'm trying to use loads of bushed and trees xD. Thanks for the help anyway! I appreciate it :D

I know lol that's why I said zen/forest/natural haha. Yeah the hunt for paths can be so frustrating! Search tumblr and pinterest! A lot of those fc2 blogs have really great paths, that's usually where I get mine from if/when I'm using them. I didn't say anything about PWPs so that part confuses me lol. And you could always buy/trade for flowers on here! I know I have a bunch of unwanted flowers sitting on my beach right now... I've seen people with similar situations on instagram lol! No problem! Be sure to update your DA so we all can see your progress! Good luck :D

Stonehenge pwp might be cool near the campsite surrounded by stepping stones, while flowers, bamboo or cedar trees. Or instead of Stonehenge pwp, maybe one of these: zen bell, hot spring, geyser, stone tablet.

I also think somewhere a bus stop pwp along one of the main paths in your town would look nice, with maybe bamboo surrounding it.

hey! it seems your town is still a huge wip. placement and everything is there, but nothing else really

>pwps

illuminated arc and the solar thing (top right corner of your town) should go
zen streetlights go reaally nicely next to eachother (like, one on the left side of your path, one on the right side)
ive got a windmill and log benches in my town, also little foresty attractions like a drinking fountain or stone tablet
try to make some special places out of your pwps!

>nature
you really need bushes! ive got some screenshots of a really simple natural town:
1074ca7a0e.png

the town is paw paw, i dont remember the DA or blog of the person tho :x
as you can see, there arent even a lot of hybrids or anything, but all the bushes/trees give it a nice calming feel.
you need some hybrids though, black/orange/white flowers are really nice imo (orange for some highlights).
it seems you dont have beautiful town yet (i see wilted flowers)? you should use that town ordinance to keep your flowers nice, its really handy
i read a few posts above that you dont really buy items? you should maybe try getting ~20 hybrids and then let them grow in your town, im also doing that and its pretty quick! since you still have many undeveloped areas you can farm them there p well

>paths
i think dirt paths would be great. you can use a pattern until the dirt paths show, but you basically just have to run again and again. after half a month, they should become visible. i keep getting them even though i dont wanna and dont even run haha

not that much from me! you should go to dream towns, definately!
ive got some inspiration screenshots but sadly theyre on my sd and not miiverse. if you want them i can fetch them though

Hmm, if you want a relaxing forest town but don't want to go the zen route, consider making it an old world European village. The bottom left of your town could feel like a small village and then it bleeds out into a forest of cedar trees. I'm not sure how fixed you are on your mayor's sweets house, but I think it'd be a really cool homage to Hanzel and Gretel to have that particular house design in the middle of a thick forest. Plus you've got all your wolves, which are typically in folk tales, too.

Recommended color pallet: Red, burgundy (black flowers), oranges, yellows, light green, dark green, off white (from roses), browns (mostly from tree trunks) You could also keep the brick pattern you have, just use it more sparingly

Recommended PWPs:
well (between Wolfgang's and Kyle's houses in the "town" area),
windmill (near the "town" area,
log benches(middle of forest and/or camping area),
water pump (near homes),
scarecrow (possible farm area?),
firepit (camp area),
custom-design sign (maybe saying "Town of Wolfmoor" and if it's legible underneath "est. 2015"),

Other relevant design elements: mushrooms, tree stumps, olive and holly bushes, apple orchard...

I could go on forever, but these were some ideas I had floating around in my head when I visited your town. :D

Hi! I just visited! I recommend changing your paths for a more natural stepping stone and clover path. Maybe not brick but stone instead! I also didn't really like the solar panel and the illuminated arch, because they don't suit your theme of 'forest'. Since your town has a lot of empty spaces, I recommend orange, black and a fewcoloured flowers, sweet olive bushes, holly bushes, Jacobs ladders, clovers, mushrooms and trees. :P

Also I really like the stone tablet and Stonehenge pwp

Oh god so many comments! Ima read through them all now, and send the TBT to the best one

I'm going to pick this one! Yeah I do have all wolves, except from Skye but she moved in today/tomorrow.
I only have Walker and Mac left as dreamies :P. I really like this idea the most, I picked the sweats theme but I could always change it ^_^. I'm European too with a French speaking village now so yeah I love this idea! :D sending the TBT now! :3
