Tips on getting rid of dirt patches?

I have a ton of dirt spots in my town and they super ugly! I've heard that planting trees and flowers can help with it, and was wondering if that is true and if there is a faster and better way to do it. Thanks!

Snowesque is correct. If you don't time travel, the best method I've found was just to stop walking on the area completely and wait. It can take a few weeks to a month for the grass to regrow. Flowers, bushes, and trees can help mask the dirt spot while you're waiting for the grass to come back, but I never noticed any change in how quickly it grew back.

Some places will never grow grass though. You start off with dead spots.
