I've been working on getting hybrids, but its been a few days since I've gotten any special colors :( I haven't even gotten an orange tulip.

I was wondering if anyone had tips? I've been arranging them like this:

XYZ
-XYZ
--XYZ

And I have one breed on the beach. (I read that they can grow there).

I also water them every day. Maybe I've just been unlucky? Or do I have too many flowers everywhere ._.

I had the most success when I arranged them in an X shape

So like the X's would be flowers

Hmm. I'll give that a shot.

Did you also have a bunch of random flowers in your town though? I was wondering if removing them will give the hybrids a higher chance of spawning

Well, I always had one space around all the flowers.

Like so

Because that's where the game will spawn the flowers. Also you're right, they do grow on the beach. I did a lot of my hybrid breeding there, it's good because villagers don't plonk down random flowers and also move in on top of them!

Oh I meant random flowers around the town away from hybrid breeding spots.
I've been keeping the areas around them open but I still get very few hybrids =/

It shouldn't make a difference, both my towns I bred in had the beautiful ordinance and were COVERED in flowers.

But I was TT'ing (so my villagers didn't have much time to water anything) and only watered the flowers I wanted to breed.

I've noticed I get more hybrids when I don't water all of my flowers on the same day. Pick a few and water those. Water the others the next day. I'm not saying you won't have any new hybrids pop up if you water all of your flowers, but you probably won't have very many.
