Tips for getting perfectly aligned houses?

I know how to do the reset trick, but I the mover never wants to place their house where I want it to be. Is my only choice to keep resetting? Any tips? Thanks!

Pretty much resetting is you're option. They tend to place their houses where previous villagers have lived or where other villagers live. Mine really like to group themselves.
Also building PwPs where you don't want them to move makes a huge difference if you calculate spacing.

Reset reset reset. I had to reset for Filbert about, idk, 20 times for the right spot? It took a long time. Just be patient.

Resetting is pretty much your only choice.
I've gotten most of my villagers into aligned rows, it just took a little while.
Since I haven't really developed my town yet with pretty paths and whatnot, I put a bunch of cheap placeholder pwps around my town to stop villagers from moving in that area which increases the chances they'll move into the general area I want them to be.
I plan to demolish them once I've gotten most of my villagers.​

Its a little bit tedious, it was worth it to me because I hate spending tons of time resetting for house plots and watching them place their plots in the worst locations over and over again. ​

Keep trying. Filbert was in the straight middle of my path, in nearly the exact same spot, for every time I reset but 3 times. I resetted A LOT.
