tips for finding good furniture?

I am currently trying to develop my villagers' yards. I don't have a ton of items in my catalog, so I have been trading for ones I know I want.

The problem I am having, is in identifying those items in the first place. I know there are many places where I can look through ALL the furniture items, but is there anywhere that has better groupings of them? Like if I wanted to see a list of all the house plants?

Websites such as Nook Exchange allow you to see all the items in the game, and I think make wish lists too! I believe you can search for different categories.

As for acquiring good furniture, I'd say buy everything in Nook's every day just to catalogue it, shoot down balloons, give gifts to villagers, and trade with other users! It can take some time to build up but it's very doable!

Also crafting items! Make sure you look for the DIY recipe on your beach every day, and look for them if you go to a nook miles island. You can also get up to 3 recipes from villagers every day!

i second the use of villagerdb! the search function is pretty helpful and i love that the different types of furniture + variations are easy to access. if you have nintendo online, then cataloguing + trading for lots of furniture is super easy! there are plenty of super sweet people on here that hold cataloguing giveaways or full-on furniture giveaways as well ^^
