Tips for cycling?

I'm thinking about resetting my second town and using it for cycling, so i was wondering if you guys could get me some tips about cycling villagers, because I know some villagers end up changing their clothes and I would like to have them all original.

change all of your able sisters designs to hats. villagers cant wear them so they wont by them.
buy out everything in your re-tail and display something in every available slot for 99,999 bells. villagers wotn buy them.

you can't stop villagers from giving each other shirts or stealing other villager's catch phrases, but the clothing / houses are one thing you can try your best to keep original.
