Okay, so I stuffed up my harvest festival. I can't catch a lobster and I accidentally saved after receiving instructions from Franklin.
I promised myself I would never do this, but I'm thinking I have to time travel. I just need to travel back one day, and then forward again. What are the risks of doing this? I don't want to loose any of my villagers.
Do I just need to turn the date back to the 26th, talk to all my villagers to make sure no one is thinking of leaving. And then go back to the 27th, and the Harvest Festival should have reset?
My other question is, is it even worth doing the harvest festival? I'm so exhausted from working all day, I don't know if I can physically play for another 3 hours.
Can someone please please help me I am panicking so much.
Hi, I replied to your lobster catching thread.. maybe you'd want to try catching again.. but if you'd time travel yeah.. just time travel one day backward.. check if someone's not moving and then time travel forward.. and of course since there's an event, nobody will tell you about moving.. that might be risky....

As for the Harvest Festival being worth it... well, all you get that's unique to the harvest festival is the basket of fruits and the cornucopia... I personally don't need those items, but I thought it was fun doing the harvest festival cooking thing.. I enjoyed it really, and it occupied most of my afternoon )
Thank you so much for your reply. I might try the island, but the thing I really REALLY can't dive. I can't time it properly, I can't get in the right position, I always miss. The only one I've ever caught is the large shadow that doesn't move.
Thing is, someone asked to move yesterday, and I told them no. So, logically, no one should ask to move when I TT back. And even if they are, they wouldn't be moving out on the 28th, because they usually give a weeks notice. Or does the notice not apply when TTing?

I haven't enjoy it at all, it's just been super super stressful
I'm not really sure about the notice and all, but yeah... diving gets easier when you do it a lot.. I suck at diving too, like I never liked it, and I said I couldn't care less about my diving encyclopedia until one day i decided to fill it and I missed a lot of diving shadows, but eventually i got better at it.. chase it above water first and when you're near the shadow press the dive button and then keep on pressing a to chase it..
If you were to TT back a day and forward again, it would generally be the same thing as TT one day forward. Tt'ing backwards does nothing to effect you, but of course tt'ing forward does. Only downsides would be weeds growing and flowers wilting (if no perfect town ordinance), villagers REQUESTING to move (if you already told that villager not to move I'm pretty sure they wont just by tt'ing 1 day, turnip prices will be a little messed up, but thats really it. Unless you want food items or to be able to see him making the stuff, i wouldnt do it (although i never really participate in the events), but if thats something you want then feel free to~
Aaaannnnddd after 45 minutes of swimming on the island I still haven't caught a lobster. I hate hate hate diving. I've managed to catch a few still shadows no probs, but as soon as they move I can't do it. I get stung by jelly fish or the shadows move under the rope.
I absolutely give up. I was so so so looking forward to this festival, and my awful diving skills have killed it for me. Thank you everyone for your help, you are such gems I don't want to risk TT, so I think I'll just have to wait again for next year, and know to save before Franklin gives out the recipe, so I can reset if necessary.
There shouldn't be any ill effects from time travelling the way you've described. Going back any amount of time counts as one day forward and you'd be travelling to the next day again, so it's like two days forward in your town. If you have Beautiful Town, no flowers will wilt and you shouldn't get many weeds. As to villagers moving, it seems unlikely that someone will suddenly vanish from your town, unless someone was already moving out anyway. Since it's only two days, if you don't do this multiple times and just continue to the 28th normally, you should still get a chance to be pinged by a villager tomorrow or change their minds about leaving. Let me know if you have any questions or need extra advice.
When did someone ping you about moving the last time they did? I can give you extra advice if nobody's been pinging you recently and if you want to be extra safe.
