hello! so let’s say that i time-traveled forward because I wanted to villager hunt, and had a villager in boxes, could i go back to the present date without anything happening to the house? or would a random villager automatically fill the plot? (Sorry if this doesn’t make sense)

If you have an empty plot and move to a different day (whether forwards or backwards) there is always a chance the plot will be filled. If you want to island hop for a new villager, you would need to do so on the day the plot is free.

so yes, if you move to the present day there is a pretty good chance your plot would be sold.

if you trade online at all then it is almost guaranteed.
