Time traveling????

I'm wondering if I make a new save file on my acnl for the sole purpose of time traveling to get special items, will this affect my original save file. Obviously I will have to save to change the time and date and stuff but if I put it back to the original time and date when I eventually load my original save file, will it be affected? I'm sorry if this has been answered before, I just can't find a thread on it.

This isn't the right board to ask this, but yes. Time traveling with any file will affect all the other files. However, going back in time will not make you lose any items.

Yes, your original file will be affected. There is no way to prevent this from happening. Sorry if this is bad news.

What do you mean by the 'save file'. If you have just one copy of New Leaf and plan to make a new villager in the same town then any changes in time will effect both villagers no matter what time you change it back to. You can only have the one town per game copy so there's no splitting villagers across a single cartridge.

If you have two copies then you can just change the in-game clock and leave the system clock unchanged which eon't effect your first file.

Sorry what items could I loose? I just thought saving would prevent this anyway.

You don't lose any items, and your files won't affect your other files unless you change the date using the 3DS settings application.

Edit: If you're referring to 2 copies of AC:NL as another file.

new save file on the same game will only allow you to create a new character.

You will still log into the same original game.

Be careful, if you TT too far forward you will lose a villager.
