Time travel and Gracie help!?

So I traveled back to the 8th of October and found Gracie and passed my first check. Afterwards I realized that if I time traveled back to the 7th and then to the 8th Gracie would reappear and ask for another check. I continued to do this until I passed all 4 checks and Gracie said she would open a shop soon. Problem is, I then traveled to the 9th to see if the town notification board would say anything about about the department store...nothing. TIY did not seem to be under construction or anything either...

I traveled back to today's date (15th) and noticed that nothing changed as well. I became worried so time traveled back to the 8th where I met Gracie before but she wasn't there so I'm guessing I passed all of the checks...why won't her shop show up though? Or at least a notification on the board When someone else tried it they got a message on the notification board saying that the shop would be closed for one day before renovating (to become a department store).
I'm worried now....>.<

You should be OK ... You get a Closing Sale Notice ... Then closed the next day for construction and then grand opening day after that ... If I remember correctly

From an earlier post I did.

You only need to have spent at least 70k in TIY for Gracie to show up. Spend another 30k (100k total), pass Gracie's fashion check 4 times and at least a month has passed since you got TIY for the final store upgrade to happen. But if you do a little bit of TT (because of the Gracie's fashion checks) then it can be a little less than a month because each day you go back and forward counts towards the total of 30/31 days.

So maybe you haven't spent a 100K total yet or 30/31 days haven't passed.
Don't worry it will happen.

That's the problem though, when I time traveled to the day after I passed Gracie's checks I didn't see any notice on the notice board. Even after time traveling from the 9th to the 15th...nothing >.< Does the game maybe not take into account the time that has passed from when I traveled?

Thanks! I'm pretty sure I spent 100k since I kept count, and more than a month has passed 100%....I'm just worried that I messed something up from all that time traveling...

Something similar happened to me. It ended up sorting itself out.

I TT'd back and forth to get the checks done then went back to normal and nothing. I waited and waited and still no change. A couple of times my villagers would mention that Gracie was here..only she wasn't.. Nor did she have reason to be.

It did open eventually... About a week later oddly enough.

Also to add.. I had passed enough days and spent well over the needed amount. This was the third time I was getting the emporium, but the first time this happened.

I think what rendra posted is the explanation ... TT days do count, but maybe your dollars spent is not high enough yet.

Phew! Thank you! I was so worried. Good to know that it'll (hopefully) all work out eventually. It is weird though isn't it? When I read about someone else doing it everything worked out fine...so typical for me -_-
