Time Capsules Question

How long is it until you get asked to dig them back up?
I buried Lopez' a week ago.. and now Stinky has just asked me to bury his so i have
how long will it be until i dig them both back up?

I wish I knew. DX Mint asked me to bury hers, but I opened it and then it wouldn't let me bury it. (#nosy) So when Bangle gave me hers, I just threw it down in the ground before I could get tempted again. XD I'd assume it'd be about a month, though.

After I buried Hazel's time capsule, she asked me to dig it up... about a month later. I forget exactly when I buried it. Just keep talking to your villagers and they will say something eventually.

You could try the ping method, and maybe that'd speed it up?

I've gotten two of these things and so far, no one has asked for them back. That was a month ago.

The game should eventually swallow it up, removing the dig marker.

It takes about a month, but i have no idea for a faster methode

They will ask you to dig it up either a month later, or when that villager is moving soon.

Assuming they ping when they want to return it, you could use the ping forcing method.

Dunno if they do. Bangle just gave it to me while talking, but Mint was so long ago I don't remember. Mint moved before she could take it. <_<

Oh yeah, I've noticed the spot on the ground where you buried the time capsule will show up again on the same day you're asked to dig it up.

Two villagers asked me to bury it, I did and after 1-2 weeks the mark appeared and I just burried the capsules up without they asking me
So after I dug it up, I just gave the capsules back and my villagers were all happy and such I never had any problems with it... xP

They will ask you to dig it up either a month later, or when that villager is moving soon.

I can confirm this. On the same day Monique told me she was moving (I told her no), her time capsule star reappeared. I dug it up thinking it was a fossil/gyroid. So I went to talk to her and she acted surprised (and slightly miffed) and said that she was going to ask me to dig it up soon anyway. She gave me what was inside, so she must not have been too upset

You could always dig it up and look at what's inside XD

I believe that when it's time to take out the time capsule, the villager will send you a letter telling you about it, and the marker for it should pop up on the ground again.

I don't think the ping method would work. At least, I've never been pinged when they wanted it back, and sometimes they asked me when they were inside and un-ping-able.

Also, in my experience, when you have two time capsules buried at the same time, both villagers will ask for them on the same day. Granted, that COULD have been a coincidence, but Skye's was only buried for a week and a half when she asked for it back (at the same time as Egbert, who WAS moving).

The first one I buried I got asked to dig it back up a couple of weeks later. I buried my second one about a month ago and still haven't been asked to dig it up yet.

I have been asked to bury three time capsules now. Once buried the dig-marks disappeared. After what I felt was ages (did not keep track) the dig-marks where I buried Peck's and Chief's time capsules re-appeared. I dug them up without being asked and when I spoke to them, the option to inform them that I had their time capsule appeared. They were happy and gave me presents from the time capsule.

I buried Monique's less than a week ago and the dig mark hasn't showed up yet. She gets upset over small things...I wonder how she will react if I dig it up without her asking me.
