I'm not sure if there's a proper forum for this, but I'll move it there if so. I'm trying to make some autumn-themed tiles for my town, sort of like a little garden path I suppose. They'll just be for 1-tiled areas and small spaces.
I'm not very experienced with paths/pattern making, it's only something I've really started working on recently, so I'm trying to learn as much as I can while toying with it. These are pretty clearly not finished, but I'm not sure what to add to make them better. If anyone has advice or tips, I'd really appreciate it!

these look really beautiful! like.. wow they are 0.0 (btw if you're still interested about a particular forum to put this kinda stuff, it's the Re-tail forum! you'll find a load of cool paths, people and more on there <3)

I tried to add some shading into them, I'm still not totally sure how to best shade the plain one but lol. I like what I've done so far for the solid tile. For the flowered one I tried a couple of things. From the left:

1. Has the same outline square as the solid tile.
2. Solid
3. Original flower, without the same shading in the center square. I feel like it's too flat without it.
4. Flower + shading, but without the little swirly vines, which felt odd to me on the first tile.

I like how the flower looks with the shaded outline, but it feels a little empty to me without the swirls. But i don't think I like the swirls with it lol

I just realized, I think the solid square has an extra shaded line i left out of the others, oops

Thank you so much!! I didn't even notice that forum at all, but I will totally check that out from now on!

Oh, and the bottom green part of the flower is brighter on the two with the shaded outline, because before the same color I used to shade the bottom part was in the flower and it didn't blend well, imo

I really like the look of the first and third tile! I do agree the second tile looks a little plain in comparison. I feel like the second tile would look really good with the Weathered Shading on the tutorial link. Otherwise, looks great so far! :D

It looks pretty! Lol im experimenting by making dresses

Thank you! I tried experimenting with dresses once lol. I made a few, but never really bothered again after that. (I'd love to see yours, btw!)

I've been trying to improve on my path making lately, though. I originally made these for my town, and then decided i didn't like them very much x_x

And a while back I made some flowered stepping stones, one of which is here

There's another version with more of that one with darker grass/purple flowers, but those were on my old computer so :/ I see them floating around occasionally though

But that's the extent of my pattern making ><

I think I would use only one version with the flower, so either the first or third. For the second one, I like the contrast of it not having a pattern to go alongside the one that does, but it really is still too plain.. I think I will try to do the weathered shading next~
