Throwing away fireworks show tickets?

I feel really stupid, but I have a lot of tickets leftover from the last fireworks show (I had minutes left to find one item that I needed, so I kept buying cookies and didn't redeem them all), and I can't figure out how to get rid of them. .__. I can't sell them at Re-Tail or the Nook's store, so I have no idea what to do.
This is probably a really stupid question, but does anyone know how to get rid of these?

Get a trash can and use it to throw them away.

Thanks! Is that the only way? I really don't want a trash can, but I'll make one and demolish it if that's the only option.
