I'm curious on what the community at large thinks about time travelling. For example, I'm an avid time traveller, because I'm not always able to play at certain parts of the day due to schooling or work, but I'll just TT to that time so I can do stuff specific to that time, like catching beetles on the island while my game is set at night. I don't see it as cheating, just exploiting the game's mechanics.

If you do time travel, what are your habits and tendencies? First of all, I have the beautiful town ordinance to prevent the detrimental effects of TT'ing on my flowers. My tendency when TT'ing is to only skip by 1-5 days, in order to prevent villagers from moving out on me unexpectedly.

Edit: wow! i didnt know that tting was such a common thing. i love all the insight im getting from you guys

i also tt a lot. mainly cause im impatient, but also because of school and after school activities. i think theres nothing wrong with it and i dont see it as cheating. cheating to me is hacking the game or exploiting a glitch. but its a game mechanic so theres no hacking involved or glitching. my only irl acnl friend thinks it is cheating though, but my personal stance is its fine and i do it a lot.

I think it's fine and as the user said above its not like hacking. I usually tt to get a villager to move out or because I'm impatient to finish a pwp.

I think it's so silly that people say TTing is cheating. Like, the game developers included the feature for a reason! For me, the game would be entirely to restricting without TTing, I wouldn't be able to play due to my schedule, etc. If I was to never TT I would literally have to play every single day just to make sure I don't lose any dreamies.

I?m playing a lot right now because I am moving to Cambodia and I know that I will not have as much time to play for 6 months because I?ll be busy exploring 🌿 So right now I'm in May 2018. When I'm not playing in Cambodia, the time will eventually catch back up to the current day which works perfectly for me. I need to have that freedom or it's not like a video game and more like a chore :o

If I never shifted my clock from the time in real life, I'd only ever play between 6 and 10 pm! I don't usually change days but I time-shift a lot so some days I play nights and some mornings. It's the only way I get the full flavor of the game.

I don't time travel, simply because I enjoy having the game unfold in real time. The main reason I play AC is because it is a stress-free game. If I rushed through events or building things, I'd have nothing more to look forward to and would probably lose interest, all together.

I always have my town running three hours behind real world time. I usually play late at night, and I like it when the stores are open. I feel that people can time travel as much as they like, because everyone has a different town. Also, I like to visit towns that are experiencing different seasons and weather from what I have back home.

I also TT quite often, cause I also play at night & so for that I can't catch the shops open & most of my villagers are asleep lmao & i never knew TT counts as "cheating", hacking the game is cheating in my opinion lol but hey you can do whatever
I also have the beautiful town ordinance activated so my flowers won't die & i only skip 1 or 2 days max

I'm a dirty cheater, so I TT frequently. By that, I just skip a day ahead. Do the stuff for that day. Skip ahead. Gets stuff done much quicker. The downside is I can't do turnips, and earn the high moneys.

I only just started TT because Rolf and Kidd NEVER asked me to move and I had them for months. I had always thought of TT as cheating but honestly, if Nintendo doesn't want me to do it then they should make it easier to move out characters I don't like.

I used to TT to get villagers to move out faster, now that I have my dreamies I don't TT as drastically anymore. The most I'll do is a day, or several hours back because I didn't feel so well in the day. Other than that I like to play day-by-day and wait for events normally.

I can't bring myself to do it, it feels like I'm cheating to gain an advantage. I only do it if I absolutely have no choice. :/

The whole point of the game is to be in real time, time travelling ruins the core of the game that everything is built upon, I don't do it myself, and I won't play with people who do it.
Unless it's a creative town, where the only objective is to make it perfect, in that case I don't mind TT'ing/Cheating.

You can use Amiibo cards to move out villagers now.

I enjoy TTing because like others have mentioned.. you can get a little impatient waiting for specific things. I tend to make sure not to TT too far ahead so I can check up on my villagers.

And honestly.. even if the whole concept of time traveling was for sure counted as ?cheating? or ?hacking,? I?d still do it. I?m going to play the game how I want to play it, lol. (I don?t hack my town stuff because it?s more fun to me to naturally theme my town).

I time travel occasionally. Mostly just to move out villagers or to skip events like the fishing tourney. I time traveled for in game months to get Gracie to appear in my town. But really, mostly just moving villagers out. I had a lot of unwanted villagers a couple months ago, so I was time traveling non stop to get them to move. I think I'm at the point where I can finally slow down on that, thankfully.

I have to admit, I tt very often in the game. The thing is: I'm not used to it to play the game
in real time. That maybe sounds crazy, but I already started to tt when I got the game on it's
release date. As curious as I am, I just tt to the next day, and then to another day and yeah...
But to be honest? I was already a time traveler back in Wild World and City Folk. Heck, tt in CF
was the best way for me to make bells, as I always tt back to Bunny Day, collected the pieces
of the egg series and sold them. That's how I was able back then to buy the furniture from
Gracie since I really wanted them.

In all seriousness, I have more fun by tt then playing the game in real time. I guess it would
be become pretty fast boring for me to play in real time and not only that, I would also miss
lots of events as I have not all the time time to play the game. And no, tt doesn't ruin the
game for me at all. Even if I make correctly a break from NL, I still have fun with this game.
But of course I understand and respect people, who don't like tt at all. Everyone should play
the game as they see fit. Also, I wouldn't say tt is cheating (especially not hacking, that's
something way different), but that's just my opinion.

I TT only when I?m trying to get villagers to move out or if I want a pwp to be completed because I can get pretty impatient. I don?t like going too far ahead of the actual day/time and once I?ve finished moving a villager or two out or the pwp gets completed I go back to the normal day and time. I don?t TT to do specific events or anything like that, I do my best to avoid those days because I feel bad about it if I do.

I haven't been playing for that long so far but I don't personally feel like time traveling is necessary. I haven't done it and I'm not planning to do it either since I like to experience the things happening in the game in real time. That way there are more things to look forward to and they feel more pleasant if there's a bit of waiting involved.

ive tried to do turnips, but i find it way too tedious a task. also, i dont have much money to invest in turnips because i spend it as soon as i get it lol.

edit oh my god i forgot to reply with quote anyways this was for locokoko im a wreck

Oh wow, that's a pretty strong stance on it that you wont play with tters! i think its cool that youre so devoted to the idea of animal crossing in real time

I'm addicted to it, and probably wouldn't play if it weren't possible.

Waiting 24 hours for a single hybrid or bush to sprout/spawn.

No thanks.

I LOVE TT'g! ^_^
