Well I'd say in general when I see people talking about them they're weeaboos listening to everything Japanese. If you like them regardless of nationality then you still have my respect. Also the Japanese people, well they probably listen to them because they like them? You can't really compare since it's their native country/music and they aren't that much for Western stuff(unless it's like old people liking 70s rock). What I meant was the cultural difference and those weeaboo Japanophiles who embraces everything just because it's Japanese. Those people would probably hates as much if they were from the US for example.

Haha. I doubt anyone else here is a weeaboo that loves only Japanese things. But it is quite weird and stupid to just like everything Japanese. I watch anime and all, but I do not like everything in Japan. Even though there is a list of things I like in Japan, there are also a list of things why I don't like it lol.
No, but those people and music journalists that must cover everything "unique" is what bothers me the most. It's like they only know about that and nothing else about he music industry itself and must say it sounds good or unique to fit in.
Also, yes I listen to allot of Japanese music, mainly 60s and 70s rock and I don't hide that I listen to it because it's from Japan. I like the culture and music from that era. And yes I do listen to western "hippie" music too, even maybe a bit less than heir Japanese counterparts.
