No, I mean that you can't do that and get a playing screen (non-upscaled) the size of the original DS. I should have worded that better.

Those who have gone from 3DS to 3DS XL

Just upgraded to an XL today and I already love it. Portable doesn't have to mean tiny. I love the bigger size. Plus, my hands are big, so I had to buy a grip for my regular 3DS (thumbs were getting sore) so it was about the same size already grip-wise.
Yes you can? If you hold start and select, the ds game will shrink to the original ds resolution.

I have to agree with the first post, if you didnt like it then dont waste your money.
I personally loved my XL from day one but I know this isnt the case for everyone.... I think the idea of trying it out some more is a good one, just dont try and force yourself to like something.... if you really dont jel with it, the skin idea is perfect

I think what JimmyJacobAC is trying to say is that on the XL, it downscales to the actual size of the original DS screen. On the regular 3DS, it downscales to the resolution of the original DS, which is smaller than the actual DS screen size. There's a difference guys.

I love my Pikachu 3DS XL, I could never go back to my old 3DS now, it looks so small and puny in comparison.
As others said, I suggest playing around with an xl for awhile longer. I did have the smaller one, but in my case I was able to adjust almost right away. The pixels I did notice, but games still look wonderful on it. I can't imagine going back to a smaller one. Yes though.. see if you can get used to it before dishing out another 200 bucks or so on it, haha.
