Seriously, does anyone else look completely different at places like Kohls or ****s where there are many mirrors? Especially those pillars with mirrors surrounding it, I look completely different/ugly. And it's only clothes stores that I look different.. I went to Target right after and I looked completely normal.I can't be the only one here... Right?

Yeah. I feel like they're very unflattering (maybe on purpose?). I always look gigantic in those mirrors omg.

I look just to make sure my hair isn't messed up, even if its not how I actually look. I mean, when you look in a mirror, you look different than you would to people looking at you, so, I don't know why I'm bothered by it, but, I am.

My mirrors at home make me look good and happy about myself

But going out in public I just look repulsive and then I feel sad about myself

I remember when I was little, I would stand at an angle to one of those pillar things and lift one leg. The reflection made it look like I was floating in midair... :p

You really care about your looks, don't you?

I think I look good in them. I like having the space to check myself out from a few different angles just to make sure everything is where it ought to be.

But I guess if you don't think you look good, you'll kind of see yourself that way? idek.

I look different everywhere. I think it depends on the lighting, usually at home I look great, but then I look ugly at school, wahhhh.

I'm one of those people who look okay in the mirror, but like total crap in photos. ಠ_ಠ (alas, even taking a picture of my reflection isn't enough to counter the evil uglifying powers of cameras)

Often times there are workers who stand in those pillar "mirrors". When I was in high school, I had a friend who had that job. Terrible job it was lol! Standing in a tiny box for 8 hours isn't fun, but they look out for shop lifters.

I've never been to Kohls so I dunno...

I know lots of department/clothing stores will hang the mirrors so they're on a slight tilt to give the illusion that you're thinner/taller though!

Same. I always try my best to avoid mirrors in most public places, I agree they do make me feel more unattractive.

I remember everyone looking extraordinarily hideous in the bathroom mirrors back in high school. I'm generally pretty happy with my appearance, but I felt like an extra on The Walking Dead when I'd see my reflection in those mirrors (or I would have if the show existed back then... ha)

Places like Kohl's, department stores, schools, etc. all use stark florescent lighting, which is cheap but very unflattering when cast on humans. -_-

Who cares what the mirror shows? Im learning to live confidently because we shouldn't be unhappy with our life C:

There is a scientific explanation for this.

I hate them because I can see my side profile in them and I get very self conscious that my face is really flat lmao

Yeeeees lmao! All mirrors in clothes stores look so fattening and diforming.
I don't understand why, isn't it to their advantage to make them more flattering so that it looks like their clothes look good on us?
Hahaha it's always a bit frustrating.

I used to do this all the time, messing around with the mirrors in the clothes stores. Usually while I was waiting for my Mum to finish shopping, and my Dad would get bored and join in too.

I don't really notice any differences when looking in different mirrors, unless of course it's one of those fun houses with the crazy house of mirrors. If clothes stores make their mirrors different, then wouldn't they want to make them so that you look better? That way you'll want to purchase their items because you think you look good in them.

I find myself weirdly more attractive when I see myself in clothes stores' mirrors, maybe because of the lighting? *dies*
