so, hamlet was one of my starters but i reallyyy want to add chrissy to my town. all my other villagers i don't want to get rid of. unfortunately he doesn't seem to wanna move. my tactic is time travelling 2 weeks forward and then going a day forward until he does the thinking animation. but he just wont lmao! for some reason genji and zucker especially really wanna move and get the thinking animation a lot but i want them to stay. ;_;

is there any way to actually get a villager to move? ive been ignoring him, i know that hitting them and talking to isabelle doesn't really do anything... is there anything i can do to increase his chances of pinging?

My friend employed a tactic of constantly talking to them until they got annoyed with her, and supposedly it worked. Just an idea!

This happened to me and it's nerve-wracking and it may look like you are doing something wrong, but move-outs are random and you are just unlucky :/. He is will ask you at some point!!

I keep waiting for Sprocket and Olaf to finally want to move but neither has asked me yet and it's definitely been more than 15 days of me ignoring both of them completely. Someone also suggested that going into a villager's house (if they're home) and turning back and going out again immediately (so that a question mark appears over the villager's head) might also work towards the "feels neglected, will ask for move" thing, but I don't know how valid this information is.

This may be obvious, but you can ask them to move if you have 10 villagers and someone is at your campsite wanting to move in.

ill try doing the talking thing and the entering/reentering house thing

unfortunately the campsite trick is gonna be hard since i already have 2 other peppy villagers, and imo it would be easier just to pay a few nmt to get her then spend all that extra time tting

I have the same problem with my Audie, I've had like 5+ villagers cycled out already but she refuses to ping me with the thought bubble :c
I want her to have a good home!

I didn't know you could do this? Every time I've tried and the camper asks Resident Services or whatever, it's always a villager I don't want to move.

all methods of annoying or ignoring are hearsay! it's been proven that who the game chooses to move is complete RNG, however your last villager will never ask to move. sometimes villagers just don't come up in the cycle much.
sly refused to move out of my town for weeeeeeks doing the 2 weeks jump method. what i found much more useful was the move-house reset method. it works really well (but yes, does take some time!) and doesn't require you to end up months in the future or to try and beat the autosave clock. good luck and feel free to reach out with questions !

That's right, I had forgot about that. The ones that give me the option to choose who I wanted to move I got with an Amiibo card.

Ignoring villagers doesn't actually cause them to move.
All that happens if you don't talk to your villagers is that they won't have the thought bubbles for other reasons like gifting you or coming up with new catchphrases so in that way it makes it easier to cycle through them.
However; move outs are still completely random. Being mean to villagers or ignoring them doesn't actually make them more likely to leave.

Actually the latest move-in can move out as well. It's been reported by a few people here.
