I had the hunting cap in the shop today and I was thinking, isn't that kind of morbid? A hunting cap in a game where you can live with deer, ducks, and other "hunted" creatures? Just an observation lol.

shearling clothing is made of sheep skin im p sure so yea *stomps all around muffys house in my stylin shearling boots looking hella fly*

Yeah, but there is a cow skull we can wear on our heads and a piece of furniture. That's a lot more morbid compared to a simple hunting cap.

No, you want morbid? Several cow characters named after cuts of beef! You got chuck, Angus and T-bone! What the heck?!

I know this has been pointed out before, but I always thought the gyroids were really morbid. I mean, we're basically digging up shallow graves and the weird thing is, who's been dying? Who is there to kill?
I mean, when you first arrive in the town it's implied that the villagers have lived in that town their whole lives until, at some point, they decide to leave. Yeah, it could argued that they're the graves of villagers past who lived there previously, but if that's true, then how come no one ever talks about those old villagers? Not even to reminisce. What reason could they have for not talking about it?Have the villagers been killing each other? Do they murder their mayors when they want out, and if so why? For food? Are the animals hunting each other?
Maybe that's why Tortimer left. He figured out what was going on and decided to get the heck out there.
Plus, this also means Coco is a zombie, so there's that.

That's how I name my cows and chickens in Harvest Moon. I normally have my chickens named Fried, Scrambled, etc.

Where does the connection between gyroids and graves come from? I've never heard that before :0

LOL That's how I named my son's hermit crabs in RL when he was little... There was "Munch", "Crunch", and "Lunch"

oh and my daughter's rabbit was named "Stu"

Makes me think of the strange coexistance of two worlds which you see in some cartoons with anthropomorphic animals -- like how in Arthur you'd get the animal-people characters riding normal animal-horses.

I guess the villagers are just different animals to those that would be hunted, made into shearling coats or creepy hats..

Not as morbid, but there's also the fact that there's a hamster cage item with a hamster in it, and you can catch octupi, and you could give them to hamster and octopus villagers.

Also, there's those little yellow birds on Main Street and the one on the billboard...they look like Twiggy's babies 8)

I've always found this odd, too. Or, really, just the fact that we could keep pets, in general, because that's, like, enslavement or imprisonment. The fact that it's animals keep other animals as pets just makes me think of concentration camps, for some reason.
