Out of the three systems this generation I liked the GCN the best.
The only things I can think of wrong with it is a lack of online games and 3rd party support.
It hardly ever freezes loads pretty quick, and offers many games that are arguably the best around. Not to mention the design of it itself, it is compact yet durable, if they did one thing wrong here it was the coloring, I didn't like the indigo, I know some here do but I really didn't.
One main argument against it is that it is kiddy, well I don't care if kids can play it or not, I care about what is on it and many games it has are awesome to play, from Windwaker to Metroid, right up to Resident evil four I love it.

I like gamecube the best only becasue their games really don't need to have an ending.

I think I like the XBox system the best, but game wise I definetly choose Nintendo.

Nintendo gamecube all the way, kids!

However, Kingdom Hearts and the Sly Cooper series, and the very few Crash Bandicoot games they had on PS2 were really good. PS2 was really good in general for those three game types...uhhh.. ..Gamecube or PS2?

 Gamecube or PS2?

I DONT KNOW!!!

I too have to go with Gamecube.
The reason you buy a system is for the games...and unless you're crazy about 'urban violence' games, Gamecube is the clear winner.

Xbox, just because they actually knew what they were doing, especially when they just entered in to the race. They nailed online play.

yeah, its kinda funny how they wouldve been considered the worst system released in our lifetimes if it hadnt been for those 2 games...

System: XBox - great online, an overall cool system... you could even kill a small child by placing it on their neck.
Games: Gamecube - best games around, can't really deny that, while the others had some nice titles, the cube just ate them up... even though half of the awsome titles were never mentioned.
Third Party: PS2 - anything you think'd never be on a game machine was on the PS2... while most call this good, i really dont see how so many people loved the adventures of vegetales...

weird... each offered what their name was... XBox, Gamecube... PS2... whatever.

:P

I hate the Gamecube. There, I said it. It was PATHETIC when compared with the N64... It was so crappy, I was about to bill it a "Sony product."

Well, alright, it wasn't THAT bad, but it was a let down and a failure in my eyes. Sure, there were awesome games on it, but none of them had the familiar feeling of gaming such as the N64 or older systems... Even the DS has that feeling. The Gamecube was apathetic, you could say.

OK, so I loved SSBM, AC, Windwaker, and Metroid Prime 2.. Any more? Prolly not. Mario Kart Double Dash was SO crappy, I was sad I wasted $7 on the rental. I mean, it was a good game all-in-all, but compared to MK64... :\

AC was a port, I don't consider it a GCN game. Windwaker, compared to Ocarina of Time is worthless, although Windwaker is probably the only Gamecube game other than Smash Bros. to have that feeling of gaming. SSBM was... a masterpiece. I still keep playing it with my brother. It couldn't have been done better... Sure, maybe online was missing, but other than that... It was perfect.

MP:2 was an awesome adventure game, but the multiplayer was a bit lacking...

So there, I basically have 4 favorite GCN games. Woopee. :| Oh, so you think I forgot about Mario Sunshine? Don't even get me STARTED on how much that sucked. I mean, Mario 64 got me started with gaming... I was expecting a continuation of the legacy of Mario, but was it continued? No. Flat out no. Sunshine was crap. COMPLETE crap. I'm sorry Nintendo, but you didn't have Satoru Iwata back in the day as president.

Now that Iwata is here, he has the mind of a genious. That is why I am convinced that the Revolution will be the best, since the PS3 and the 360 are continuations of the same kind of crap this generation was.

I can't even decide which system in this generation was better. THEY WERE ALL COMPLETE CRAP. There were some good games, but do some good games make the system? We need 15+ good games to make an awesome, unforgettable system! The NES, SNES, and N64 had all that. Did the Gamecube, or any system in this pitiful generation have as much? No. Sure, there was Halo, God of War, etc, but were a couple of games going to make the system be legendary, like the N64 and systems before it? Again, no.

This generation was a DISGRACE to gaming. I hate the guts of this generation. Don't get me started on the Gamecube era of Mario Party, either, because that is just milking franchises. The N64 had SUCH awesome Mario Parties, I mean, each one was new... Mario Party 4, 5, 6, and 7 are just crap. Sorry, but it's true. To TRULY appreciate gaming, you cannot start out with this generation. If you haven't played the older games, you are not a gamer.

So, in short, which system is the best? They're all crap. The Xbox had completely awful games, and online didn't make up for it. The PS2... don't get me started, please. And the Gamecube... I already said everything I needed to about it.

In short, I hate the guts of this generation.

Here's the 2 things wrong with GC:
1-They said it could have a 6 year lifespan, but it only had a 3 year life (this last year and coming year don't count as its lifespan, nothing good has come out).
2-Not enough peopel bought it right away, meaning 3rd parties were lacking in support.

They said it would have a 6 year life span because the Revolution controller was supposed to be an add-on for the GCN...
