I've been resetting for hours now trying to get Monty or Hazel. I'm down to 8 villagers with the possibility of obtaining only cranky or uchi villagers and there's a section of empty land right above Truffle's house that I really want Hazel to take over. I just figured it would be neat to have the two ugly girls close to each other, they can be like besties. Finally a house was placed exactly where I imagined Hazel to live and it was Ricky.... An ugly male squirrel with a unibrow. This game likes to rub things in my face because it happened 3 times in a row. There's over 100 possible villagers (cranky, uchi) and I've managed to get several Phoebe, Deirdre, Cherry, and Canberra (the kind of villagers I'd typically choose, "cute.")
I'm really wondering if each day of the year is coded so that it is more likely on certain days to obtain certain villagers/campers and areas where plots would preferably spawn. I get that it's supposed to be random but the houses are always spawning in the same 5 general areas..

I should add that I haven't visited anyone or had visitors. I also haven't street passed so I'm not dealing with the void thingy.
There are over 60 cranky villagers and only 30 something uchi but I've only had 2 cranky dudes try and move in since I started resetting and both crankys were the same black horse. You'd think that I'd get more crankys then uchis?
