My birthday is tomorrow, and my sister gave me a slightly early birthday gift yester day, it?s a Walmart gift card.
I?m thinking about using it to buy another ACNL copy, but send I?ve never done this before, is it a good idea?

Another question I have is, sense the ACNL WiFi servers are shutting down next month, if I get another ds, will I be able to visit myself through nearby play? It doesn?t use WiFi I don?t think, so I don?t see why not.

(Name Ideas are welcome!)

I've also considered getting another ACNL cart, though I haven't done it because there are other things that I would rather spend my money on. But if you really want to spend your birthday money on a second cart then I say go for it.

Also what is this about the Wi-Fi servers shutting down? I looked it up and I can't find anything about it. Nearby play will always work regardless of network status, your 3DS just needs to be able to connect to a nearby 3DS.

Where did you see that ACNL Wi-Fi servers are shutting down? If you did see it somewhere was it a reliable source?

I bought another AC copy and do not regret that in the slightest. It allowed me to create Fireleaf, which is my favorite town I have ever played in.

Do you have a theme you want this town to be? Giving that would make name suggestions a lot easier.

I would say go ahead and get a second one. With that you don't need to delete your current town and can
build another one with a different theme for example. I did this too once back in the days, but I gave up
the second town at one point when I realized that I spent more attention to my first town and started to
kinda abandoned the other town. I guess I'm just not that kind of person who could care for two towns
on at the same time.

Also, they gonna shut down the ACNL WiFi servers next month? What? May I asked where you heard
this? I didn't found any information about it and I thought they would keep it alive at least till 2020...

Someone posted it on tbt, I think someone from Nintendo also posted it on twitter.

Oh right! I don’t have a theme yet but I’ll give some of my interests if that helps any, I’m a fan of Undertale, Pokemon, Zelda (Which I’m probably not gonna do, sense I have Hyrule) and that’s basicly it.
I’m also thinking of naming it off a town I used to live in but I don’t think I will personally.

On last little side note, I won’t be able to play with my other town for a while anyway sense I only have one ds, and probably won’t be getting another one for a while.

Hm, weird, I checked out both Nintendo's twitter account and also the official Animal Crossing twitter
account and found no tweet about it. Was it only for New Leaf? Or did they also talked about that the
3DS/Wii U online service gets shut down? If you find the source then it would be really nice if you could
post it, because I'm surprised if they would shut it down now, especially since it's still over half a year till
New Horizons and I really thought they would support it till 2020.

I still haven't found any info on ACNL servers shutting down. I seriously doubt it's real, but if it is could you link the source here?

Unless I'm missing something, you don't need another 3DS to play multiple NL files. I only use one 3DS at the moment, and my two towns work just fine.

I meant I won?t be able to play multi player with myself

Well I guess I’m gullible, cause I fell for that. Lmao, thanks for telling me.

They probably mean that they can't play both towns at the same time. But yeah, if they have two carts then it should work just fine with one console.

yeh you can just use two cartriges in one 3ds but like xSM64x said, you will have to take them out. Or use an emulator for a town.. But its up to you

Happy Birthday to you, Hyrule_Crossing!

Thanks! :)

Happy Birthday.
More than one town and happy with all of them.
The 2nd town was a Guest town that I opened for online friends. That town was set in a different season so we could escape winter for summer.

Before I bought a 2nd 3DS I was able to trade items with my other town. My son had a 3DS with ACNL. Main town dropped items in his town and than I switched cartridges to pick the items up.

Happy Birthday!

I recently started a second town and I'm glad I did. I had completed almost everything in my original town except a few badges that I'm still working on. I still like playing in my main town, but there's a lot less to do so having the second town keeps me interested.

The main thing to take into consideration is if you have time to take on a second town. Unless you plan on putting your first town on hiatus, it helps to have a schedule or figure out your priorities in each town. But if you have time for a second town and feel like you want one, then go for it.

I just got a second copy and I don?t regret it at all! I say get one! I transferred my old town onto my new 3ds, and I also saved my new town onto my new 3ds. You don?t need two different ds?s to play them.
I?m really happy that I can do stuff carefully on my first town that I didn?t really think about the first time, but my first town was so far along that I don?t want to lose any of it or delete it (river shape, house location, grass type etc)
