Same with me! I'm trying to breed hybrids, so I set aside a few to breed each day and the rest are put into individual "fields" of the same color and species so they don't accidentally produce other flowers. For me at least when villagers plant their own flowers, they seem to plant the same species as what's already in the area. So if they see some violets, they'll plant another violet among them.
My town is only a few weeks old, so my routine goes like this: dig for fossils, fall in the pitfall because it'll just take up a spot in my inventory, talk to all villagers at least once and complete any reasonable chores for them, have fossils assessed in the Museum, learn a new emotion from Dr. Shrunk, buy flowers/sapling/axe at Leif's shop, expand my house, and check the stock at the Nook's store, Kick's, and Able Sisters' and buy whatever I need to fill out my catalog. Then if there's a special visitor, like Redd, I'll go to them, then water flowers.
That takes several trips back and forth to Re-Tail, so depending on how much time I have, I'll shake trees for furniture, interact some more with villagers, write letters, and do the diving trick for a PWP suggestion. Maybe go to the island. I haven't been giving myself much time to just relax lately, but I'm the mayor so I'm not supposed to relax (yet)

I always mean to start landscaping but it always overwhelms me.
