Things wrong with ACC. (homophobia, rules, staff, etc.)

Apparently they are losing members to their site and former members of ACC are coming here.

When I first joined TBT I had a few people PM me and they all thought I used to be on ACC.

There is definitely a migration happening!

I migrated from ACC to here. I'm glad I did. This website is a lot better, and it's so much more active. There's nothing to do on ACC because no one is ever on, and the mods are so strict about everything. They won't even let you post dreamcodes because they think it's "dangerous".

Most. I know one of the mods pretty well and they are wonderful. Nothing like the other ones, but there's only so much they (my friend) can do lol.

Like above user, I migrated from ACC to TBT after hearing about it on there (a thread that was comparing the two lol). I like it here a lot better... especially forum layout. ACC definitely has a lot more restrictions, idk what their issue is with lgbt/etc.. I mentioned it once in a post (said lgbt) and got a warning for it.

It's been a long time (years) since I was last there, but I thought that they didn't like you posting your friend code directly in threads discussing trades either. Like you had to PM people or something wonky. There is no danger to having your friend code on a public thread. People can't even visit your town unless both you and the other person have the friend code registered... -_-

Yep, they still do that. You have to send a request asking for their friend code and you can't get it until they accept. I always hated it, because it was such a pain in the butt. And like you said, it isn't even dangerous to share codes.

Just be glad nothing like that happens here. I could care less as to what happens there. I do have my own opinions on it, however. I know, it has a strong contradictory with what I just said.

I don't get it. That is basically a violation against human rights; not being able to use our own freedom of speech. Why make a forum if it has such bull**** guidelines?

Love is love, in all forms. Just because it has the potential to start something bad, doesn't mean it should be forbidden. If you love the person, you love them. It doesn't matter if you are a sexuality other than straight. It shouldn't be frowned upon. If you don't agree with me, well, you don't.

I feel bad for anyone who actually likes and still uses ACC.

ACC has a bunch of dumb rules, and the friend code and dreamcode thing is really annoying.

Looking back, I made a Randomness PT back in Jan-Feb 2014, and that was the funnest and most alive thing ever one ACC.
I literally added everyone I could, even random people, plus me an and my friends, and there were so many posts on it, and I would always go and spam the thread for fun. I remember there was like at least 100 people added to it. It was a private thread so it was ok. We got way over 1,000 posts quickly.

till the dumb mods showed up and ruined the fun. Ugh, acc is so lame

I do like this community. Even though some people here are very young and some are older, there seems to be reasonable discussions that happen here. Sure, sometimes there's disagreement, but I've seen people discuss hot topics here like religion and sexuality and politics, things that turn into big flame wars in other places. Occasionally the mods have to take action, but most of the time people respect each others' opinions.

I've also never had a problem with anyone in this community either as far as playing Animal Crossing online goes. Most people here tend to be helpful and generous and try to follow expectations (not stealing stuff or running through flowers or things like that).

ACC was pretty much the opposite of this community. I did not stay very long.
