Today marks two months since I started playing ACNH (as many of us here, but maybe more specifically the 20th than the 21st) and I want to make a list of things I love and hate about this game out of everything I learned for the past two months.
HATE
LOVE
BONUS: LOVE/HATE
HATE
- Unable to get all items through single player only / player forced to play online (to get things like all fruit for example)
- RNG (Flick, CJ, Redd, etc)
- Repeated dialogue (mainly towards things like using the airport, every time you dig up a fossil, etc... I don't mind as much through my villagers, although I wish they had more dialogue) (ESPECIALLY AT THE AIRPORT WHEN ORVILLE HAS TO TELL YOU YOU HAVE A NOOK MILES TICKET)
- Sitting through the process of just getting a single Nook Miles Ticket (order it, wait for it to print, pick it up, go through the dialogue, repeat)
- Unable to have a shopping cart for Able Sisters
- Unable to bulk craft
- Unable to customize bulk purchases
- Unable to go to your bank account without having to go to Resident Services every single time (I thought it would've been nice to have the ABD within the Nook Shopping app or something... or maybe even an app itself?) (Annoying to see an expensive item in shop I want but not having enough bells for it.)
- Unable to eat more than 1 fruit at the same time
- Unable to sit next to your villagers (without having a lowly placed item you can sit on)
- Unable to invite villagers to your house
- Not having a connected and universal storage system
- Unable to make your own shorts, pants, or shoes
- Not seeing some sort of friendship meter with your villagers (besides receiving a photo)
- Breakable golden tools
- ~2 week-long tutorial
- No way to tell when your tool is about to break
- Unable to build bridges across from cliff to cliff (higher tiers)
- Unable to build cliffs on top of cliffs where it meets the edges
LOVE
- Stunning graphics
- Customization for many different types of clothes
- Customization for your island
- Customization for many types of furniture
- Able to move buildings
- Able to put furniture outside
- The dialogue with my villagers and between them is funny and always entertaining
- Built-in paths and being able to put custom designs on top of those built-in paths
- Able to move mailbox
- Mailbox is an entirely separate inventory
- 40 inventory space
- Tons of storage
- Able to change look whenever you want
- Wands
- Able to change villagers with clothes, accessories, and hats
BONUS: LOVE/HATE
- Needing to call in an amiibo villager 3 times in order for them to live on your island (I like it because it seems realistic and for getting DIY, but at the same time, it just gets tiring)
- The way this game deals with flowers (it's nice that they never break forever and I like the idea of digging them out with a shovel like you're actually gardening, but it's just another thing that can get tiring real fast if you have so many to move at once)
