This is my first time having them in my town and I love the sound they make. It makes me feel a bit nostalgic because it reminds me of when I used to watch 'Higurashi no Naku Koro ni' when I was a teenager and still liked anime.
I love the cicadas! They remind me of how most anime illustrate summer being hot in the form of "bzzzyyttt chk chk chk" over a lens flare. I also love the "dropped tambourine" sound they make when you chase them off. They are just the best.
I'm pretty sure they count towards HHA points for the month of either July or August I believe. I know one of those two months is the easiest to get HHA maxed out due to how many items are "in season".
I like them in the game. They sound nice ^^
In real life, I hate cicadas, though, because they smell bad. Can't smell them in the game, so that's just fine lol

i hate them. i really liked them in harvest moon but for whatever reason, they're very very annoying in animal crossing.
It's my first year having ACNL and so far I really like the Cicadas. They're fun and easy to catch, and I've always liked the sound of Cicadas. I might take Mariah's idea and put some in my houses.
Wow, it's shocking to see how many people find their noise annoying. I love the Animal Crossing cicadas. They sound so lively and energetic and summery and nostalgic to me. I find their sound very calming.
