i've been watching a few island tours on youtube and i've noticed people put things around their house to make it look like it has a different shape, i can't find a picture but my sister has done it too
and it just makes me wonder why they took this feature out, it was so cute and would look so cool with themed islands ☆

plus i had a castle in new leaf and i want a castle in new horizons
sorry i tend to rant a bit when i get ideas lol

There are a few house exteriors, but it is a lot more limited than before.

If only they also added themed exteriors like the mermaid or the modern, but hopefully they’ll bring it back in a future update with architectural styles. I’m tired of some of the exterior choices as well.

Let's just all hope that Nintendo will put back the missing things from NL back in NH in the future updates, I mean it's in the past games why can't they bring those back right?

I was disappointed with the range of options, but especially the mailboxes. I wound up picking the one that looks like USPS blue mailbox and putting it in front of Nook's Cranny because I hated all of the options.

I miss the fun exteriors a lot especially the mermaid one! I like a few of the new ones for NH but they’re nowhere as varied and fun, I hope we can get them back at some point - maybe if Lottie ever comes back she could run Nook’s Homes!

I'm really hoping/expecting that they are going to bring us more options for customizing our homes at some point. It certainly feels like we've been given less as far as customization freedoms go, and that's specifically the reason that I'm holding out for an update for this. It makes no sense that there would be more in a previous game. I'd like to believe more is coming at some point.

I feel like house and residential services exterior updates could easily be added in future updates. It would be nice to customize the square as well... at least the tile, I mean.

Different options for shops would be interesting too. I may be alone in this, but I actually wish we could change the exterior of Nook's Cranny to be like the pre-update Nook's Cranny. I think the modest exterior works really well in forested villages.

Yeah, they used to have exterior types in New Leaf. I'm hoping that they make a return in a future update. New Horizons is kind of lacking in the house exterior department. Also would like to see Resident Services upgrades. Maybe change the brick path to one of the other paths.​

Our current options are so incredibly basic, they could have at least given us wood, shell and that sweet exterior for the "sets".

I'm pretty happy with my cottage-like exterior, but I do miss my castle exterior from New Leaf. What I want most is to change the look of Town Hall, though. Maybe even the bricks of the square? All in due time, I suppose.
