Does anyone have a town with a certain theme/reference to pop culture, something like that? Have you ever thought about making one?
For example, an idea that came to mind recently was a How I Met Your Mother themed town, because I noticed a lot of villagers share names with the characters of the show. My ideas for the town would be:
Villagers:
Marshal the smug squirrel - Marshall Eriksen
Lily the normal frog - Lily Aldrin
Robin the snooty bird - Robin Scherbatsky
Punchy the lazy cat - Adam "Punchy" Punciarello
Wendy the peppy sheep - Wendy the Waitress
Colton the smug horse - now, because there's no Barney in the game, I picked Colton because he's blonde and smug. Barney is obviously a smug. But yeah, the name doesn't match, I'd just have his catchphrase be "legendary" or "suit up" or something.
I considered the bear Teddy to be Ted, but I dunno, not really that fond of him. Plus, I would need a mayor and it would be fitting for the mayor to be Ted.
Town:
Urban paths and PWPs, decorated to look like the streets of New York (that'll probably be the name of the town too). I'd have Brewster's next to my mayor's house - I can pretend it's MacLaren's, put a signboard out front. c:
Town Tune!
It would probably be easy to fit that "ba ba baba.." theme song into the town tune. c:
House(s)/room ideas:
Haven't given this much thought but it would be cool to have a house with all the rooms decorated like the main character's apartments. Barney's apartment with sleek furniture, for example.
Yeah, I dunno, just some random ideas I'll probably never make happen.
If I ever get a second town, I'll try to do this. Seems like it would be fun.
What about you guys, anybody got a themed town? I know I heard of some Harry Potter towns, Pokemon towns, and I saw one cycling thread whose town is District 12 from the Hunger Games. c:
