Theme for my new town!

I think a zen theme would be nice. If so, I would love to see it and definitely visit your dream town. c:

I think a zen themed town would be very nice, but I personally would pick another theme as both the fairytale and zen theme has been used many times as a town theme by many people, so maybe go for a theme relating to a move/book/character/colour/animal/plant? and etc etc. List goes on!

I think you should do a zen town.
I don't think you should do Zen or Fairytale, because as previously stated they're overused.
Why don't you try a city-themed town? Only use modern-themed buildings/PWPs, and try to find animals that have city-ish houses. Then, feed them all modern furniture! Maybe get a lot of Peppies or Snooties, since they're more interested in fashion and looks than others? Smugs would work well, too, and maybe even Crankies. Other than that, I suppose the rest would be more optional, but those 4 I think would look best. Eventually, you could put down a lot of designs so it looks like a lot of streets and sidewalks, and less patches of grass?

I'm always very keen on the zen/traditional japanese towns.
I know there are quite a few already but there is a lot you can do with them and the PWPs are beautiful.
Also there are a lot of traditional japanes themed villagers and home objects.

Many people have done zen/fairy tale themed towns. Out of those two, I think I'd pick Zen. But I think you should try something different?
I think you should try modern as well ^^ I don't think I've seen many modern towns. The town hall and train station can be changed into modern. The paths could be like roads and side walks. And then all the player's houses can be changed into the modern house too.

do you really have no preference? You'll be spending a lot of time on this. Does it really matter what everyone else has a slight preference on?
What would make you the happiest? Which PWPs do you like the best? what type of villagers do you like the best?
I have mostly a fairytale pastel town but I still have a zen garden in it. So do what you want. I was actually tempted to do the zen town hall and train station,… but the fairytale one matches so well with my flowers and villagers.

I will vote for zen. I think that the zen towns are really beautiful, especially with dirt paths - really captures a more natural feeling to the town: and you wouldn't even need designer paths. 
I did the modern town for myself and it didn't go exactly as planned. Love my flowers too much.

I think Zen, as it is really nice to visit a lovely Zen dream town (have you visited North? It's amazing) and Zen towns can be interesting to look around as they vary a lot.
If you're keen on doing a fairytale-themed town but you still want to do something that's a little different-- how about doing it with a lil twist. Make it a dark fairytale inspired town. You don't have to go full-on gothic but you could pull the eerie qualities that, for instance, folktales from the Brothers Grimm are rich with.
But hey, I also do enjoy my fair share of pastel pink fairy tale towns as well. =)

Do something else IMO. It seems that all the towns I visit are zen or fairy tail themed and I like originality if I'm honest. They're both nice themes (although if I had to pick one of these then I'd probably say zen themed) and you can be really creative with them both, but I'd suggest try something that not many people on TBT have tried hehe.
For instance, you could try:
- A street or road themed town (there are so many PWPs that would be perfect for this)
- Colour themed town (pink, blue, purple, red ~ go crazy)
- An ocean themed town (You could get the octopi villagers in your town and lots of blue hybrids could represent 'water')
- Natural themed (natural paths ~ very nature-like)
- Camping! (There are lots of PWPs for this theme too)
- Music themed (I think I'll try this theme at some point<3 I saw a really nice piano path qr code somewhere)
- Retro themed
- Futuristic theme
These are only a few ideas off the top of my head. Good luck with your town whatever you decided to do!
