So it's late, I can't sleep so I am spending the time plot resetting Ms. Pecan. She keeps trying to put her house right in front of my mayor house, or my alternates house. It's like she doesn't see or care about the other empty spots that are currently all over my town. lol

Anyways...made this post because I was bored...

Villagers cannot plot on patterns in the new update. You can lead them to better places and lead them away from places you don't want them plotting.

once I had a villager that would NOT move away from the roost. she kept plotting there over and over again, sometimes she moved one or two spaces, but it was so frustrating. I wasn't even that happy with the spot she finally chose, but I was just so glad she moved away from the roost that I just took it lol

dude don't get me started oh well too late

[rant incoming]
I just spent 4 freaking hours plot resetting my dreamie for the perfect spot next to my other faves
but NOPE she wants to be right behind my house where no path can reach.

I was on reset 137 when I messed up and unwittingly loaded my normal game instead of starting a new one.
(after a couple of hours you get used to continuously pushing the A button)
and where does the plot appear? since it appeared behind my house 120 of the 137 times you'd assume there, right?

NOPE
RIGHT BEHIND RE-TAIL
[rant over]

gah 4 hours of my day wasted
now I'm forced to buy her amiibo card or face the 16 neighbor cycle

Oh noes! That sucks! :( I spent 3 hours one day trying to get Marshall right where I wanted him. Then when he was in an okay spot I dropped my 3DS and it turned off. So...needless to say I was mad. lol Gave up and just loaded the game, he ended up with his house caty cornered between the river and the roost. So it was awkward going around his house.

But...I don't have any patterns laid out yet.

Hey, something I tried yesterday: I put patterns in the wrong spot while plotting marshal, so I took the chance and tt'd back to the day I got him (make it 7am to be safe) and not the day he was due to plot, low and behold he wasn't plotted and I had the power to place paths so he would plot where I want, so I set up the paths and tt'd to the plot day at 5:58 am, and plotted marshal where I wanted him! but don't worry, I tested and tt'ing backward then to plot day doesn't count as actual days since its not past 6am and you haven't saved past it, plus you can do it multiple times. you don't have to place paths everywhere, and I had tons of yellow benches so it only took like three trys, but if you really wanna do this method use this layout, the X's are the paths. people say that you can do them 3 blocks apart but that doesn't work with my experience. houses have to be 2 blocks apart on the side and top from pwp's rocks, etc, and 3 blocks from where the door is gonna be, trust me, I know. also paths can be placed directly near plots but not under them, anyways I hope this makes sense and helps!

Ah I wish I knew this! I was plotting ruby and she would only move in two spots. I ended up choosing the "better" spot but I feel like it messes up my town! I had paths around where two of my villagers left but she wouldn't plot near them! I wanted to tt back since it was almost the next day in the game but I was scared :o

In the past I wasted several in-game days plotting rudy and never risked tt'ing back to get those wasted days and plot reset again, but I'm glad I did this time it really payed off. Sometimes you gotta take risks, when you look at it she would plot in one of the spots or you could control where she plots, either way its a risk-less option considering you'd have to choose anyway. but you could just binge on a ruby amiibo card and force her out and back in to plot reset. I myself don't collect amiibo but I wish I did, would make getting tom a whole lot easier...

Yellow benches will now become my new best friend. I'm so scared of plot reseting with the update. Everyone makes it seem like a nightmare, but now with Maddison's helpful advice I won't be as afraid. D:
