Hello! If any of you saw the gamecube port for the wii u unveiled, this is basically what this is about. But its also a lot about how the gamepad is becoming rather uncomfortable for me to use, I possibly just have weird hands, but does anyone else find it uncomfortable to use for any amount of time over 30 minutes??

I never owned a gamecube, but the remote has interested me for a while, to those who owned a gamecube, or atleast the remote- what do you think of it? Is it comfortable for long bouts of playing??

As for the pro controller the 80 hour battery life is tempting, but really as long as its light and easy to use for say, a 3 hour play session, I'll be happy.

Basically what do I buy, This;

Or this?

Apart from that, Will any of you be getting the smash edition gamecube controller??

Both controllers are very comfortable. That said, I'd go with the Pro Controller simply because it is less clumsy imo, and the battery life is great. I wouldn't expect a bigger one from the GC controller. I have played with a GC and the Pro controller, and I like the pro better. I won't be getting the smash edition gc controller.

the pro controller is awesome. It has an internal battery so you don't have to use batteries for it. It's also comfortable and responsive. I'd say that both controllers are great, though. I will definitely be getting the GC controller when the new smash comes out.

I accidentally made another thread with the exact same content?? I thought i was editing my original post,,

How do I delete a thread?

And thanks for the opinions so far!!

Yeah, I tried both controllers at my friends house and they both seemed comfortable. I suggest that you give them both a try for yourself and then decide. I've heard that the GC controller can be difficult to use if you have bigger hands, but my hands are smaller so I wouldn't know if that's true.

You can't delete a thread, but you can ask a mod to delete it for you. :) I reported the other thread for you.

I would say either just get a pro controller or wait until the GCN controller adapter comes out and use a real gamecube controller.

you should get the super smash bros wii u bundle then which comes with an adapter and the gc controller. it's a little pricey though, $100. the question is can the wires reach your couch?

This board I thought would help me choose which one to do too but nope LOL Still don't know, everyone makes good points on the WiiU Pro but then the Smash Bros bundle. But the bundle I think only comes with that grey controller + adapter. I kinda just want that adapter we're going to be able to buy that separate right? I hope so. Cause if not then that's a huge bummer kinda, I don't really need more wired GC controllers, but those fancy ones seem cool.

i'm going to need a new one since my gamecube controllers are old. i'm already worrying about the price of the bundle months before it is actually going to be released..

That seems too much even with all that for $100 almost, it feels more like a $80. They give away the Wii Remotes in bundles all the time why are we charging up the ying yang now for the outdated WIRED controller just because there's the adapter inside with 10 year old technology I can attach to my WiiU. But okay, I guess whatever I gotta to do get my thangs

i'm laughing because nintendo likes to sell to the european market at a higher price

Lets say 60$ for a new game

However here it's 60€

Heres the fun part

60€ is 80$

80$ For A Game

no way in hell can i afford a bundle lmao*,

*sobbing

I would personally buy a Wii U Pro Controller and try it out a few months on games that have support for it. If your not satisfied, return it, but if you like it, keep it and try it out on mash Bros. when it comes out. As for the GameCube controller, if you know someone with a GameCube or a Wii made before May 2010, ask if you could come over and try out the GameCube controller while you're there. It is really up to you as it is best to play with a controller you're comfortable with. I'm personally buying the Smash Bros. Wii U bundle myself as I love my GameCube and want to show support for my favorite controller and also due to the fact they might release compatibility with Wii games that support it later on (Also for GCN Virtual Console...)

Sorry for the essay, but I hope this helps your decision making process!

60 dollar game, 20 dollar adapter, leaves 20 on the gc controller. way cheaper than pro controller.
also shops sell gc controllers for 20+, not like you are going to get any cheaper

and do not forget the ~40+ white controller with extra long cable

THE GAMECUBE CONTROLLER IS A GIFT FROM THE HEAVENS DON'T YOU EVER LET ANYONE TELL YOU DIFFERENT THEY LAST FOREVER I RAN OVER A WAVEBIRD AND IT STILL WORKS SWEET LORD IT CAN SURVIVE A NUCLEAR EXPLOSION.

The GameCube is an amazingly durable machine, and it's the same thing with the controllers. I've had mine for ten years and I've never had to buy replacements. Ever.

But now Best Buy is starting to spread a fact/rumor that the GameCube controller/adapter will work with other games as well. Perhaps they'll do some sort of phasing out of the WiiU Pro and bring back the GC? Or the more likely WiiU Pro + GCN combo. Which is all fine and dandy, it just feels like we have 10,000 controllers we can use with this system LOL Meanwhile everyone else has 1 or 2 (if you count the PSP or Vita as a PS3/4 controller)

First party controllers only. Not the billion third party ones

hopefully the gamecube adapter will have a long cord. i have 2 gamecube controllers that are really old but still work fine, but i'm probably going to end up spending $100 on the bundle :(
