i know you can't give amiibo villagers (i.e. the new villagers with mobile homes in the update) to others because nintendo's got a business to run, but what about plain old amiibo cards?

i just moved hazel into my town (my town is a bear cub village with 1 spot open for temporary villagers) and, since the update gives me the ability to replace villagers as i please, i'm planning to move her out in a month. then do the same for the next villager. i'm fine with this system regardless, since the main purpose of it is to see fresh faces without needing to lose my cubs, but it'd be nice to be able to help people get dreamies this way.

point is, i used one of the hhd cards (which are the only amiibos i have) to move in a villager, and since the hhd cards weren't made for the welcome amiibo update, is it possible to give her to someone?

(of course, it's likely no one will want her but it's good to know for future reference. i have a skye card too and i feel like she's pretty popular so it'd be nice to make people happy.)

Yep, it is! Adopting plain old amiibo card villagers works just like regular villagers, as far as I know.

I'm 99% sure that the normal villagers (like Kid Cat, Apollo, etc, etc,) can be adopted out. There's a lot of cycling threads that focus mainly on just using the cards to get villagers out quicker and allow for more people to get the same villager without having to cycle through!

EDIT: Can confirm, just adopted Marshal from someone scanning the cards!

As far as I know, only Villagers obtained from Amiibo FIGURES cannot be adopted, but villagers obtained from the Amiibo CARDS can be adopted. You just need to get them in boxes.

Yeah, I was thinking that I could probably just cycle out Marshall 100 times for TbT but then I thought that might not be a nice thing to do lol.

It would make villager cycling/requesting pretty interesting
