the Villager(s) You Never Thought You'd Have!

Okay I saw the 'underrated villagers' thread circulating but how about villagers you just never even thought you'd love.
For me it's definitely a tie between Agnes and Soleil, their designs and mannerisms are so CUTE ohmigosh
I never thought I'd end up with Diana or Muffy either, but they both currently reside in Aigredox ^u^
And on the flip side, villagers I thought I'd love but are sorta ehh: Merengue!! And Julian?
I love them both so much, but Merengue was sorta... Eh in my town! She was sorta a copy of Fauna, right down to their houses and voices! As for Julian, I thought we'd not really connected that well, but he also sent me his pic in almost-record time! Which... Hmm!
What about you all?

I also thought I'd never love Agnes. After Renee moved out, I got an Uchi random move-in, and I wasn't too thrilled to see Agnes's name on the plot. But she really grew on me, and I'm so excited to have her alongside Deirdre ;w; I love Uchi's so much.

I've gone through a lot of Normal dreamies, but my first was the sought-after Marina. I ended up getting her for free from some generous person to find that she was terribly bland. I still got her picture before she moved, though. I was also not a fan of Merengue.

For me it was more villagers I didn't think I'd be bothered with, but I really enjoy having Coco (invited from campsite) and Ruby (starter). I've invited a few villagers from the campsite and it's been great to experience some villagers i'd've never thought about. I feel a bit the same as you with Merengue, I remember I had Renee and I'd prefer Renee to Merengue, probably doesn't help that she was the 3rd normal in my town..

Yuka! I'm super friends with Yuka even tho at the beginning I was NOT happy about a blue Koala. I also didn't think I'd get along with a Snooty, but lo and behold, I do. The only flipside is that she put a lot of trash in her house, so now I need to send her tons of nice things in the hopes that it will get better, eventually xD

For meh, I have Sprinkle who's house is in a perfect spot but who kinda just gets on my nerves? I got her from someone so if she moves I'll try to rehome her, but eeeh we did not hit off.

Weird how things turn out to be.

Ankha, only cause I don't usually like the more popular villagers for whatever reason and she just never seemed appealing to me. I wasn't into the Egyptian thing. Now that she randomly showed up in my town I think she's pretty cool!

Chester! He's such a cute little panda bear. I'm surprised he's not very popular.

Benjamin, at first I thought he was an ugly boring dog, but now I can resist talking to him all the time!

Also heck yeah Agnes love n love for uchis in general!! *pumps my fist into the air while doing a rad skateboard trick* ♥

Frobert in my town. I got him from someone's void via WiFi and he randomly moved in.
Wasn't even able to plot reset for his house.. Good thing his house isn't in that bad spot xD
Tho he plotted right on my recently-bought-from-TBT-carnations so I was kinda mad at him at first xD

I don't really like jock personality, but Frobert is so cute lol he is a tiny little frog with polka dots, and always showing off his muscles and stuff lol

I found Flo to be adorable while campsite resetting for an important villager. I didn't keep her, but it made her my uchi dreamy when I got a new town. Her villager art makes her look kinda ugly, but she's not. q.q I also thought both Frita and especially Deirdre were hideous, having them both as uchis made me love them. I wouldn't mind if Deirdre ended up in my new Chrome.

:O I didn't know Flo was an uchi!! And ahh, I had Deirdre way back when at the beginning of my game but... I thought she was... Pretty ugly ;n; I had Pashmina too, and loved her, but didn't know how to regulate my TTing to not lose her ;~; maybe one day I'll she her again, too!
I want either her or Nan as a goat villager really, I think Pash may replace Muffy ;u;

 

[Story]

I think I bonded pretty well with Flo. I think it's because she's the first Uchi I actually got to know. I think Frank was the surprise villager of my current town though. I didn't plan on getting him in the first place (I actually wanted Apollo) but I really dug his design the more I talked to him I think it's the eyebrows.

In my old town, before I even knew what tiers were, I really liked Genji for saying "Okatu" all the time and Chow the panda for being a grumpy old Chinese man saying "Ayia".

Pango did that for me. She was an original for me and before I even knew what dreamies were she had grown on me. She threw my birthday party last year. (Ankha threw it this year, but that's besides the point) She became my mayor's best friend quickly and so I just can't let her go.

I'm sure if a tier 5 villager moved into someones town, they probably wouldn't much care for them (unless they're a dreamie of course) But when they are one of your starters, I think people really befriend them more than others. Some of my first villagers were Croque and Ken and really enjoy both of them. Sadly, I let Croque move, but I think people should like the villagers they actually like. If there were no tiers, many towns would be much more unique. (Rather than the usual all tier one villagers) But ultimately, it's their choice. -sorry if I'm ranting :I

Hm, for me it was both Bam and Beau. I got them both in my last town and hated both for different reasons. I disliked Beau because he was orange, and I hate orange. And I disliked Bam because he was just weird lookin'. After a while of talking to them and getting about town I realllyyyy realllyyy grew to like Beau. He was SUCH a sweetheart, and with the best written letters in my honest opinion, I couldn't stay hating him for long. Bam I grew to like quite a bit also, so I allowed him to stay in my town but I didn't fall in love with him like I did with Beau so I didn't get him again when I reset. I did get Beau again though, and I'll probably always have him in my town. ^.^
