The Town of Xael has been forever lost to the stupidy of Nintendo and their stupid move to NOT make it possible to back up your game data for Animal Crossing New Leaf.

I thought I could make a new town on another CD card and keep my main town still, but it turns out Nintendo's decided to be underhanded to prevent that sort of 'cheating'[even though I paid for the game]. So now my town of Xael with all my dreamies is gone(I even lost 6mil bells and my 7-11 set from this bull).

Thankfully, some people I met here are willing to help me get back on my feet, but I'll probably never be able to replace my 7-11 set without a few hundred million bells now. As I doubt I'll find somebody over on gamefaqs willing to dupe me the set again for free.

All in all, I'd just like to say Screw You Nintendo. Backing up save data is supposed to PROTECT your data, not CORRUPT it.

edit: Please note that I'm not asking for duping here. I know that's against the rules. Any duping I get done will be done over at gamefaqs.

you put in another sd card hoping you could have 2 towns??
i understand why they think its cheating because you only paid for one game, but if anyone could switch out sd cards and have their family share them - whats the point?

im sorry to hear that though. i hope you get your dreamies back
im not really sure on how to back up save data, but now i probably won't try to u_u

Nintendo gives steps to follow in order to back up save data or so you can move your data to another 3DS, except both things will result in corrupting Animal Crossing New Leaf data

i heard its possible - you just have to back it up every time you save.
or you already knew that and something else happened

but ugh i would be too upset to play new leaf if my town was destroyed

What happened, is(awhile ago) I'd downloaded Animal Crossing New Leaf onto a second SD card(as I had it on my 32GB one originally) and thought maybe I could start an alt town on my other card for villager cycling. Made the new town tonight, saved, went back to my main town and "The data is not the last data saved and can't be loaded. Delete data?" error came up. Read online that I'd need to move my data to the other card(or find a way to tell my 3DS that my main card is my AC spot instead) and tried that; same issue.

ahh yeah i dont think its possible to have 2 digital towns, but having 2 physical copies of the game is fine.
i dont know what to say but i guess xael is gone for good?? that and you bought 2 copies of acnl to have your town deleted

im sorry to hear this

Nah, it was the same digital copy, just downloaded onto another card. Though I have a feeling the same issue would have happened even if was a brand new digital copy(But that would require another 3DS)

That really sucks, man. Sorry to hear it. Nintendo really did make a bad move blocking us from that security. They had their reasons but they suck.

I can understand why the did that though. I would have, technically, stolen a second copy of the game had that actually worked(which was never my intent in the first place). All I wanted was to have a second town for cycling villagers.. it never really dawned on me that what I was doing was basically pirating. Which I'm against doing.
