Now I'm curious if you guys with the same beach had the same original map (hard to tell which one it was with terraforming done). The beach width should be random and not connected to the river layout, I think? But I'm not sure.

I've also been struggling with ideas...I was thinking of making my peninsula a second level and putting a lighthouse up there, and then decorating around it, but I've also been thinking that I could do like a little park thing, using the peninsula (because my cliffs start near it so it's kind of secluded anyway) and the rocks in the back. The beach would be big enough for a barbeque or maybe a hammock, and then put a statue/fountain on the rocks, and benches and flowers on the peninsula.

Haha yes, it's perfect. Right now I have a campfire, coconut tree and my heavy bag and speed bag... once I open my basement gym I'll move those back indoors 
It's a placeholder private beach gym for now haha.

I've seen somewhere online that there are only a certain number of island maps to choose from so it is very likely that we had the same map! I've done very little changes with my map except the new river I added in the middle, near the bottom of my island which you can see on the map on my pic

I've totally used it as a place to hold stuff! When I amassed a huge amount of DIYs, it was the perfect place to hold my extra Bunny Day DIYs that I wanted separated from my regular ones hahaSNAP!
I definitely want to make my peninsula a cliff, too, though not a lighthouse area (I'm making a non-technology island). The park idea sounds really, really neat! I definitely want to make a ramp leading down from the cliff in the back to the beach (hence me making the peninsula a cliff and blocking the beach off is not an issue), but I'm not even sure if the thin beach would allow for it. But yeah, a park while making the peninsula a cliff at the same time would be difficult to do. Unless you can make it somehow look good to maybe make a small waterfall come down the peninsula towards the beach, but from my last island I know that peninsulas are not super-good for waterfalls since the cliffs can't be made wide enough to look good with water on them. But of course that's just my opinion.
My tiny beach is a bit bigger but flanked my river mouth and airport. Honestly, I haven't been sure what to do with this beach for a few weeks now. It's not in a really private location either which sucks
Actually I have resetted so, so many hours (I'm at 90 total) that I have tried out the same map multiple times when checking for fruits that I can tell you that only the "central" part of the map is definitely the same. The rocks on the beach, airport position and color, dock length and color as well as peninsula position and shape are different each time. For example, each map has two different airport positions (on your map, your airport could have also been one spot further right). I am, however, absolutely unsure about the beach shape itself. There's a few different beach rock formations, but if these are tied in with the beach shape...that I don't know. If the beach IS dependent on the center of the map, there should be 93 different beach shapes then.

Wheeze. Mine is smaller. I’ll see if I can find a photo later. It’s about as wide but gets cut off halfway so I can maybe just put a lawn chair out and relax in my little beach corner xD
Oh hey, I have that one, too - just on the other side of the airport! Unfortunately that one can't be surrounded by a cliff as the peninsula is never down there, so I don't really consider it hidden. What I did on my old island which I deleted was closing off the river mouth with a waterfall cliff directly above it and then making a zen fence along the beach with an entry point. I had a bonfire and two palm trees there, never got further than that since I knew I would delete the island, so I didn't really care, but I had plans to make a picnic blanket with custom designs and put the cherry blossom event outdoor picnic set there. I have a feeling the beach is too tiny to make that happen... I'm sure theres a way to make a feature of it in a different way, maybe it can be themed around something random like a fishing spot, or outdoor reading spot, or some kind of mystery secret using a custom pattern (like a barely visible message in the sand)... something small to accentuate the fact it really is so damn tiny hehe. OMG EVEN SMALLER?! That sounds hilarious and amazing at the same time because how small can they get?! Would be great to see your minimap, too, so that I know what peninsula shape to look out for.

I do actually have a tiny waterfall at the island end of my peninsula, because above it is my "zen garden/water feature/bamboo" area, and I think it looks okay, but not okay enough to extend it out. I love the ramp idea, though! I hope you can make it work.
Ahhh the picnic set is a good idea! I wish I could put Saharah's rugs outside since my design slots are mostly filled ;___; Thanks for the suggestion!

I'm pretty bummed out about having to reset again because I need it just a biiiiit bigger. But I just don't see how I can make what I want to make with it. I'm gonna definitely try to see how it is in Island Designer, but I fear there might be a very different problem: When you're behind a cliff, the camera totally changes to show you where you are. And I think the beach is so small that I won't be able to avoid the camera showing me this "from-above-view" only and that I can't see myself normally on the beach because it's just so small I'll be too close to the cliff every time I'm on it. I'll have to test it, but I honestly think that "too small" might really ruin it also from the camera point of view. I agree it's cute, but also so inconvenient!And the beaches are then really not tied to the map center! So there's different beach shapes that randomly get put on the islands and they might be related to the rock shapes you get! Good to know!

Yeeeeeep, I wish soooo much I could put Sahara's stuff outside. Some of the rugs are so nice, especially the tropical one would, for example, also work really well in a natural area on grass. Ooh yeah, these are the map sources I also use, thank you for linking them! But what they show is just the 93 central maps (rivers and RS). The rest is random, though I suspect all beach types are probably represented somewhere. Glancing at it though, I see that the same rock formations seem to appear on different spots on the maps and it's definitely the same rocks, so maybe rocks and beaches are different in the end after all.

Yeah, river mouths, rivers and the resident services form the "core" of the map. Peninsulas have seven or eight positions (depends on the river mouths, with two south rivers, there's eight possible spots for peninsulas, otherwise a river mouth takes up one of them) and the secret beach has five, I think. There's a lot of randomness in the maps and it's really hard to get certain combinations to appear, especially if you're looking for a certain core map. It's why resetting sucks so much.Ahh I see. Well I hope it doesn't take too much longer for you to find your ideal map! 90 hours of resetting sounds horrible, not gonna lie. I have this exact same tiny beach. I despise it. I planted a single coconut tree there and called it a day.
One time, my daily bottle spawned there and I drove myself crazy checking and rechecking all beaches until the tiny beach came into my sight by accident and there it was. So now I have to check it when I'm doing my eastern beach run...
It doesn't bother me enough to reset though. I'm a lot less particular than some people here about the details of my island
