And also, if it calls for survival your brain can adapt to consuming those sorts of things to the point where it may actually become enjoyable.

Like this guy that was lost at sea for some time and had to survive off of raw fish...he actually enjoyed eating the uncooked insides because his brain had some how adapted to it, under those conditions. Raw fish liver? *censored.3.0* yeah, dessert.

That's why you cook them. Raw meat contains lots of bacteria.

And technically, as humans we are naturally omnivores and naturally meant to eat meat raw.

What if you're in the desert where food would be harder to find?

Trying to find food is still preferable, animals at least have nutrients while feces are just waste and don't have anything useful in them. the best thing to do in that situation is sleeping during the day and look for food at night when critters are out.

Although, I will admit drinking your own urine in that situation is the best thing to do, water is virtually impossible to find and urine isn't nearly as bad for you.

Moral of the story is, don't get stuck in a desert.
