The state of cycling

I got super busy with life before the update and went on hiatus from here and played my ACNL minimally. Everyone was expecting cycling to die but I went to the villager trading plaza and everything looks the same. I'd like to go back to cycling so how's it going? The cards didn't get rid of the need?

Things have definitely slowed down as far as villager trading goes, but a lot of people are using the cards to cycle. and plenty of people still do it the old fashioned way.

Cycling is still a thing in VTP...
Usually, it'd be great for people who aren't interested in cards.
Cards do contribute to this as well.
