The SS just mailed me and is making threats

This doesnt sound like they are drafting you....it just sounds like they want your personal info in case of war....

Jimmy Carter started the SSS (draft list thing) to "scare the Soviets." What an idiot. That's not the only illegal department he created as well ._.

And he's still alive... ruining everything he touches.

Huh... is that where you have to sign up just in case they decide to re-instate the draft? (Just looking at recent posts) I thought that was like mandatory as soon as you become of age.

But I probably said something stupid, don't listen to a young'in like me.
 
Yeah I'm not gonna read this whole thread but Selective Service is the draft. You are required to register for the draft when you turn 18 according to federal law and not doing so is punishable. It's wrong and it sucks. A lot of people I know never registered and are fine, but if you've received a notice like that about it, it's best to register...it won't mean anything unless there is actually a draft, and in that case you can always go to Canada.

It means that if you signed the form, and then there was a draft you would go fight
in the war...

They keep it as a contingency should a draft ever be re-instated, apparently.

In the event that we need one they dont want to have to spend the time to individually find every 18-25 year old male in the US.

Everyone 18-25 will have to do it at one point or another.

The current law is you have to register within 30 days of your 18th birthday, but I havent recieved anything yet and im well past the 30 day mark.

Oh crap im breaking the law unwillingly and unknowingly T_T
