Pokémon The Shiny Curse...

I feel like I have a curse in every one of my game systems in which I'm not allowed to find a shiny Pok?mon at ALL. Of course it might have started back in FireRed when I ended up running away from a shiny Spearow when I had no Pok?balls...
I've been trying the Masuda Method to try and get a shiny Taillow. It's been about fifty Eggs so far, and NO SHINY. Is my system completely cursed?

I feel you! I've only encountered 3 shinies before, and one of them was the Gyarados and the other one used Self Destruct, but I managed catching the 3rd one!

Also, I heard the Masuda Method can take up to hundreds of eggs hatching, or it can be a really low number! At least you haven't hatched in the thousands yet, lol.


Have you tried any of the other methods?

I've tried for a shiny Bibarel in X, but my chain broke after ten encounters...

If you have only 50 eggs hatched, you're on Box 2. I can go over 20 boxes without a shiny. Keep going.

you're not "cursed", you were just unlucky once and then gave up after 5 minutes every other time.

Nah, my brother's only shiny before 6th Gen was a shiny Poochyena in Emerald. At 6th Gen, he was able to hatch 2 accidental shinies and successfully reset for a shiny Reshiram. It's just that you are not hitting the exact times a Pokemon will be shiny. Also 50 eggs is quite low for Masuda Hatching standards. Some people go over 1000 eggs to get a shiny. Whereas some only hatch 20+ eggs and get one. It really differs from person to person.

I SR'd casually for a shiny latias in ORAS and then I kept going because I was interested in seeing if i could actually get one but then i ACTUALLY GOT ONE on the third or so day and i ran out of pokeballs and i wept for a few seconds and it was great.

no such thing as a curse when it comes to shinies, especially if you're hunting for them, just bad prep and impatience. x/
