It?s to save you if your on a higher layer without a ladder.

I thought their new job was a little pointless. I was like ?whose gonna get lost in a small island and that can see a map of?? But then I snapped awake and OF COURSE. If you?ve climbed 1-4 levels and either drop or delete your ladder, the Resettis will come get you.

And also if you get lost.

... or you can save and quit and start back at your tent/house that way.

Still pointless.

Also what if you have not enough nook miles? XD

You could probably get yourself stuck with the new terraforming feature too I imagine.

Resetti scared me as a kid because sometimes I would forget to save or wouldn't have time to save (parents would want game off like immediately...) But he did teach me about the importance of saving and now I save very often in all of my games! However, with this autosave feature, I wonder if there's a way to turn it off like Pokemon SWSH. I just kinda feel more secure if I save manually each time and not develop a crutch for autosaving in case it were to mess up or not save when I thought it did after (yes I'm paranoid). And it also makes it easier to stop playing at the end of the day if I save and quit for some reason... Would also make it easier to reset at the start if I didn't like the island too.

Yeah, unless the game changes somehow so that when you boot up, you're exactly where you left off, it won't matter. And if you have less than, I think, 500 Nook Miles? It's a moot point anyway.

Also it seems to be quite a waste of a service, because the chances of you not wanting to restart, not having a ladder, not having built a ramp, and not having that many miles? Yeah, it's unlikely. There's gotta be some secret meaning to Resetti that we don't know about. But I do wonder if when wasps, scorpions, or tarantulas knock you out and you wake up at home, if you wake up with a message from Resetti telling you to be more careful, and a bill for 500 Nook Miles. THAT would give him a purpose.

Yeah, this is what I was thinking.

I don't think his job is pointless, but I do think we're past the days of writing how we're garbage 5x because we reset the game.

i think it can be of worth later in the game because you can travel to the plaza and shops too if im remeber correctly

I think it was shown that fast traveling will cost Nook Miles though? Can't see me using it often, if at all, for that reason.

I'd love that! I'm really hoping there's a way to not only see both Resettis, but also get Mr. Resetti to rant at you about something. His dialogue was always some of my favorite in past games.

I don?t think the ladder will break, I?m pretty sure only flimsy tools break. I doubt there is a way to get stuck on your island, unless you can place a villager?s home on a higher tier and you haven?t built an incline yet, then the villager approaches you and trades you something for your ladder. Thing is, villagers never asked for tools in previous games, so why start now?

Stuck terraforming? Nope. Just make a narrow spot on the river to jump over, or dig yourself out of terrain you may have surrounded yourself in (if that?s even possible).

The fact that they shoehorned Resetti into the game makes me hopeful that all previous NPC?s will be returning. Of all NPCs in the franchise, Resetti would be on the top of the list to be axed, as much as I love that mole. If the producers had enough mercy to keep Resetti employed with a moot fast traveling service, I don?t see them getting rid of the pelican crew, Reese/Cyrus, Shrunk, Harriet etc.

Maybe they?ve all been shoehorned into the game, or they?ve expanded on the services they once provided. Introducing features you can?t access until you?ve unlocked those characters.

The direct said "it's theoretically possible you could get lost or unable to move forward", which would indicate that getting lost is something that isn't likely to happen, but still possible.

An example would be to spawn in a co-op player and have them take your ladder or vaulting pole. When the player proceeds to pick up these items, they will be sent to the pickup box at Resident Services. You'd now be stuck there.
