The Resetting Thread

Things are clearer in my mind now.
I've resetted for four to five hours today but couldn't find my perfect combo. I believed I was not that hard to please but it's not the case anymore lol, the smallest detail can bug me for sure.
Tomorrow will be another day of resets. What I do want know, that greatly varies from before:
Agnes or Muffy as sisterly villagers OR Scoot or Ribbot as jock villagers. I want at least a small rock but where you can still place things on to recreate a nice design I saw on Instagram. So I can accept combos of a small and a big rock or two/three small rocks, but not two big rocks anymore like I used to do. I want the big round peninsula or the strange one (that is not straight). Could possibly accept the small round too. For the fruit, I dislike apples and cherries, I know now I love pears and peaches. I dislike lilies and roses too. I would prefer an orange or yellow airport, green is my third choice. I don't want the resident service to be too close from the airport if not perfectly lined. I prefer it on the left. Now, far away resident service can work. I really don't like when it's one tile one the right/left from being perfectly centered!
So, I do go till the end of the beginning more often as I have more chances to get an acceptable island just looking at the map. Then it starts being difficult: if the layout is (almost) perfect, I need a good aiport colour, fruit and flower even if it's not relevant. If not, the villager will decide if yes or no I keep the island.
I've encountered several nice islands with great villagers from my choice, but a small detail just disturbed me, I still hate me for resetting again and again for nothing!

Finally, if the island is really perfect (layout, aiport, flower and fruit) I can ignore the villagers and hunt for them later

Me again
I had to reset a lot this afternoon to finally get the perfect island. I've never asked so much but here we are.

19 serious tries after I finally set up what I wanted to have the perfect combo: everything but apples, yellow or green airport and tulips (I'm born in June, other available flowers were roses and lilies and I DON'T WANT THEM for real). I know it's not a big deal to have another flower or fruit, but it was my requirements of the day.
Three hours of resets for an island I couldn't even imagine: perfect fruit, colour and flower and perfect map too. The airport is perfectly centered, I have the big peninsula and small rocks as I wanted. I'll share a picture of my map later, but it cannot be better!

(in addition, I finally choose another pronouns ingame and it makes me happy... nice beginning, I guess )

I finally found my island home on my Switch 2.

To prevent myself from being stuck in reset purgatory, I gave myself a max of 15 resets to find what I wanted.
I only had a few things I was looking for:
1. An island layout that didn't need too much terraforming to work. I want to do minimal terraforming and keep the island as close to natural as possible.
2. I had two starter fruits that I absolutely wanted: Cherries was my number one desired fruit and apples was the second
3. I wanted a yellow airport, but I was also okay with blue. I like those colors because they match the Dodo Logo the best, in my opinion.
4. Resident services far from airport. No reason just mostly a preference

I did not care about the following
1. Starter villagers: I have all the Amiibo cards, so I can get any villager I want
2. Peninsula size: I rarely ever decorate my peninsula, so I didn't care about the size. I usually just throw the lighthouse on there.
3. Dock size: The hotel being on there is going to make the dock size irrelevant
4. Flowers. I never really cared at al what flowers I get. I can only get tulips, roses or lilies.

So I reset about 5 times and got this map. What drew me to it was the residential service placement. It's far from the airport, and out of the way. Just the way I wanted.

Airport Color: Blue, a color I was okay with
Starters: Katt and Sheldon, I'm okay with both
Flowers: Lilies

I am very happy. I do not see myself resetting anymore. But I always say that. The only thing I'm going to do on this island is tear down some of the cliffs on the east side of the map and tweak the river a bit. The river kind of looks like a person running. I love it!

I'm still trying to figure out the purpose for that peninsula--I always put the lighthouse out on one of the big rocks. (I think I may use that area for now for making hybrids--that is after I get my pumpkins moved.)

Anyway! I love your map and never really considered going after an airport one of the DAL colors. I will have to post another picture of my map after I get everything laid out.

Awh, congrats on your island! That’s a lovely map, and with cherries too! I love the big peninsula, I always put my house on it because it fits perfectly.

Now there's a thought! My house is right next to it already, and I could then turn my whole acre into farm and flowers. Hmmm.

That's cute! I'm afraid I'm having a rough time with creativity atm, although I keep thinking it'll kick in better once the snow in the game is gone and there aren't partially melted snowboys everywhere.

For sure. I don’t like decorating during winter because the snow just makes everything look awful. I love when the green grass comes back.
