The Pros and Cons of having two copies of NL?

This thread was a lifesaver because I was thinking about getting a second copy but now I'm going to save my money (even though I have a $15 gift card, still doesn't cover it all, so.)

Pro's: You can have twice the amount of fun!
You can have one town in the winter and one in the summer!
You can TT in one town (unless its gonna be a clean town)
You can find some villagers that you want for your main town/or both.

Cons: You will have to have more time to spare to play both

Pros: Fun~ For your main town you usually want it to look amazing (Pathed, flower bedded etc) With a second town you can have fun! You know? Make it a dump. Or make it space themed. Or have you and your friend play hide and seek by making the ultiate maze.

Cons ~ Doing the thing above could lead to boringness and/or time wasting.

Yes thank you so much to everyone who replied <3 Your input is much appreciated! :)

I also decided to save my money for now but maybe when I've more free time I might get a second copy to experience some of the pros mentioned above!

I have three towns but one is inactive.

For me, the second town is a japanese town that is my dreamy collector and streetpass bae. Sometimes im too lazy to cycle so i buy dreamies. But for some reason i cant seem to get clyde or carmen while cycling my second town

5 towns seems chaotic. And if their all active? Wow i can hardly handle two.. If it werent for the beautiful ordinance my flowers would all be long gone by now

I would love to see your Japaneese town. I am new so how would I do that and would that be ok with you? TIA

I would only recommend a second town if you have a second 3DS as well for a cycle town. But not as a proper town. Unless you have so much free time on your hands that you want to put solely to animal crossing I don’t see how someone can stick to fully managing 2 towns for any extended period of time.

However if you have said second system for a proper cycle town then that second shell has all sorts of benefits like:

- Being a cycle town to try and get dreamies, and sell off popular ones you get.
- Backup in case of memory corruption. I keep 50M in my second town in case something terrible happens.
- You will always have an easy town to hop on over for petitions.
- You can set your second town for any time of year to get anything you need if you want to keep your main town current.

Pros:
Can have a different layout and fruit, make a town different to your original, selling villagers, may decide to TT if you didn't already

Cons: more work (or rather play lol)

i'm the odd, crazy loony luna one..
i have 7 towns >.<
for some reason instead of resetting a town
i ended up buying new cartridge...i couldn't reset
don't know why...maybe keeling all those cute villagers gets to me

Wow! That is a lot to keep track of. I've got three, and I think it's the max for me. Unless I had another 3DS, then maybe I would be tempted enough for a fourth.. XD

Does anyone here with two+ copies feel like they can't put the same effort and love into a new town? Knowing that your old one is still there and you've done so much on it? For me, it's almost like I should delete my old one and start fresh, cause then I just end up trading everything over to the new town and it feels like I've cheated/ rushed the experience... :( I like my new second town more than the first but I can't bring myself to do certain things as I did with the first town... Like complete the museum, play island games, collect badges, etc..
