I'm thinking of what theme I want to have in my new town and I know I want a forest town but I can't decide what season to set it in. I imagine it's a lot of hard work but I also think it would be fun to reinvent the town with every season and as someone who resets a lot when they get bored, I imagine it would be good for keeping your interest alive in the game? So yeah please let me know the pros and cons of having a seasonal town! :)

The cons - at least the biggest one to me - is that it would be out of "season" for 3/4 of the year.

The pro - you choose a favorite season so it may just make you like your town that much more? I personally have a fall themed town because fall happens to be my favorite time of the year. Especially around November when everything gets super vibrant in orange and red.

I think that the biggest con is that your town would be out of season for most of the year, as Punchyleaf said. If you made, say, a winter themed town, it would look great in the winter but pretty odd in the spring. I also think that a seasonal town would damper your enjoyment of the other seasons, and in my opinion experiencing the different seasons is one of the best parts of New Leaf. :)

Oh guys I'm sorry I didn't make myself clearer I mean a town theme that changes with the seasons :p So every season you change up your landscaping etc

Ahh, okay. I thought you meant you'd keep your dates set so it would always be fall or spring or whatever. LOL

Con: Lots of work keeping up with paths that match the grass and trees.
Pro: Variety! You definitely won't be bored with a town that always looks the same.

I was thinking of doing a spring town all the time but I felt like...well I'd have to always TT to the same time and I thought it might get too boring, but idk!

hahaha maybe its because my first ac game ever but I will never get tired of my town. I am currently just waiting for 2 last pwps to get and build but my town is pretty much finished. I played on my bf's digital copy for acnl but he moved back home so I had decided to buy my own copy & 3ds.

aahah yes acnl is my first (you read that right, wish I ran into ac earlier) and only ac game so Im not sure if that makes a difference. For me, the whole point of acnl is creating my dream perfect town. If I create a perfect town then there would be no need for another one. I just need my last 2 pwps to obtain and build but its mostly a finished town. I cant wait to sit on the tree in the plaza to read the history of my town and listen to the ending song with credits! I would never change, restart, or delete my town. It took a lot of planning, time, and effort so Im really proud of it. The feeling of finishing everything will last forever.

The theme of my town is a summer get away island and yes summer is my favorite season. My town is a dream town that I like escaping to when I feel like it. I log unto it everyday just take a stroll around my whole town and admire everything I have designed. I landscaped and designed (including the path pattern) my town so that it looks good in any season and weather. When I feel gloomy and I log to see that its raining and playing the beautiful rain song its pretty neat <3 I dont think you need to "keep up with the seasons," let the seasons come to you :D

Like others have said...if it's just changing paths, then it's not too bad (which is even more true once you have the QR code machine) but if you mean completely changing the layout and PWPs, find paths that that will match the grass and trees, getting the flowers, bushes, and trees for each season will take a lot of TIME, work, & IGB. The best part of acnl is sharing your town and seeing other people's towns, along with giving away a lot of items or paying for pwps for new players! My favorite thing to do in acnl is visit really awesome dream addresses or if im lucky, get a direct tour of the complete town with a theme! So spending time to keep up with the seasons take me away from my 2 most favorite parts of playing acnl. At least thats what I think!

prod of every season: u can play in every season!
u get to experience the season n stuff

cons of having every season: u might have to change your bushes and flowers for different seasons, I think i'm going to do that. but that's not really a bad thing I think, it gets fun to change stuff in your town in my opinion, it makes it bever really be done
also i guess if u dislike one season that's not gonna be fine

pros:
- if it's your favorite season you might enjoy your town more
- since it's a single season, no need to pack up your seasonal sets or outdoor flora arrangements, it can just stay
- others can come to your town to participate in whatever seasonal holiday your date is close to, or just enjoy the season year-round
- it's a definite set-in-stone theme, so making it will be slightly easier

cons:
- instead of slowly changing it with the season, you just leave it as is, so once it's done, it's done and you might eventually get bored of it
- no seasonal events or holidays, so no more collecting unorderable holiday sets/event items yourself
- you have to TT a lot to keep it as is (i.e. if you don't TT if it's wintery and snowy, the snow will disappear eventually)
- no watching the seasons change, which is a lot of fun
