SO UH... I sorta hate the plaza in this game. I mean... ehhh... think ab it.... you got resident services which is helpful enough, but,..... AGH ok lemme just do bullet point of all the reasons the plaza SUCKS in this game
  • i hate how it's un-customize-able. Er... idk, I just hate the brick on it, everyone else has it and.... oh, yeah, it doesn't match with any pathways, so it makes it look weird : P i used brick on mine but it doesn't match and agh i dont wanna use a different one cuz it looks too weird ;v; i wish we could maybe change the stone on it, that'd be cool
  • I greatly dislike how nintendo just decided to plop all the npcs RIGHT THERE. don't get me wrong - kicks is a great dude. But I wish he maybe had a lil shop of his own that was a BUILDING. Also, why only leif once a week? Leif needs a frikin shop too. Idk, i feel like it's just a waste and the game could be so much more interesting if this were a thing
  • the plaza COULD be an actual event center... besides the once weekly kk concert. it'd be absolutely awesome if there were things similar to public works projects for the plaza; you could have one to add a vending machine, some seats, a food stand... there could be birthday parties there, or end-of-the-month parties, the possibilities are endless, but.... the plaza is hardly an event center if there's only kk once a week, isabelle and redd every sunday in august, and a party on new year's. LAMEEEE!!!
  • I already sorta mentioned this, but kk should NOT be in the plaza. He was w a a y cooler in NL when he was a dj, lol. they could add a lil dj area in some sort of basement and u could rock out all night with some epic kk remixes... why did nintendo ruin my guitar pup :c
anyway. what're your opinions? <3

I very much agree. For a game that focuses so much on customization for our island, in the end there are only three important buildings that we can really choose a location for. I kinda wish that we could customize our own Main Street or at least have access to all the buildings present there.

Considering many people have already customized their whole freakin' islands from top to bottom, it makes me wonder if Nintendo is even planning to add more buildings altogether. Maybe more special guests and obviously some shop extensions as there's apparently already one planned in the codes but full buildings? It doesn't seem like it's something they're planning on doing, sadly :/

this game is so watered down compared to the others
I mean I love it, but why the hell are they promoting customization so much without really giving us that many options as far as buildings. what u said xd

The plaza is simply New Leaf's Plaza and Town Hall merged into one. Nothing wrong with that - and I do like all the silly shenanigans the villagers do around it - My villagers had a grand barbecue on it yesterday, which was quite funny to behold!

I think you are primarily sour about the plaza because you can't move it. It's my sour spot about many areas, such as the river outlets and beach rocks - They're permanent structures in the way of our ideas for terraforming our islands.

Otherwise, it functions perfectly well for the game, and is anything but wasted space.

I’m pretty much neutral about the plaza; the only thing that drives me crazy about it is that i can’t drop items on it. I’m working on hosting a free poster catalogue event and the plaza would give me a lot of nice empty space if only it would let me drop items on it. I was disappointed that I could put stalls or anything on the plaza for decoration :/. I did expect more out of the plaza, so I can understand your point of view and how you feel.

You can't drop items on it because, the space is a reservation area - and stuff you put on it could clash severely with all sorts of updates and events that might be put on it.

Or, another way to put it: Think of it as space for villagers themselves to place their items on. We have so much privilege to decorate all over the island and around their homes, that we forget that they might have plans at times to set their own items and things down and relax. That's how I see the Plaza: A spot for them to do whatever random things they want, without worrying about how we control the rest of the island.

i think it would be more tolerable if we could customize the exteriors, similar to how we could in new leaf. also need more house exterior customization options, too.>:(

I definitely agree! KK slider should perform someplace else (*cough* the roost *cough*), and those characters should have their own shops. I understand that some people don't have room for more shops on their island -- but what if we hopped abroad the plane or maybe a boat at the dock and sailed someplace to shop?

I really miss the town tree from New Leaf. It was a great way to show how much time you spent in your town, and sitting down on it to see the history of your town was really fun to look back on. I also wish you could move resident services! It would be really cool to have it up in the mountains someplace rather than it be the first thing you see when walking onto my island.

The plaza is the space around the Residential building area correct? I don't really like how we can't drop furniture or customize it. That's a missed opportunity. Sometimes the bench is there and sometimes it just disappears.

It's not terrible, but I agree. I wish we could customize it somehow.

Honestly, now that you mention it, that is a feature I miss from NL - how they let you customize the look of the town hall and the train station. I'd be nice if we could do that with resident services and the airport. It wouldn't even have to be extremely fancy - just changing colors might be nice.

Exterior options would be quite nice myself - as long as it still functions like it does right now. Maybe let us change the brick design, too.

I can see why they wouldn't let us customize the area because it's K.K. sliders spot, but at the same time it's kind of restricting our creative flow.

thanks for all of the opinions, but no, i am NOT sour bc i can't move it, hell i never mentioned that so whoever said that uuhh missed the point

Eh, I like the plaza and why it's used for. I don't think Leif needs a shop, I love him but in NL I eventually stopped using his shop for the most part.

I agree they could do more with it. I like the idea they had of having random villager events there so they could do more with that in future updates.

I can understand why they wouldn't let us use custom patterns or set things down on it but I wish we'd get some brick options (like how we can choose our house roof) or a path that matched the plaza.

I do wish we could move the plaza. Kinda annoying that Resident Services is the only building we’re not allowed to move..
Being able to change the flooring would be nice as well.
I don’t really have too much to say against the plaza. I enjoy finding my villagers there. As for the NPCs... I don’t think they need their own buildings and they’re fine in the plaza.
I don’t really pay much attention to Kicks, Leif, and Label anyway. I actually think it would be nice if Saharah and Daisy Mae stayed in the plaza because it’s annoying running around my island trying to find them.
