My daughter and I both play New Leaf. Two different DS's, which means we street pass each other constantly. I've picked up two of her villagers and she just picked up one of mine, all from the street passes. She is currently NOT happy. I have 9 villagers and she's trying to get one of hers to move. It's a race to see if I can get someone from a campsite before she gets hers to move out! (I don't want to buy a villager, and haven't seen any giveaways I'm interested in.)

Now that I've found this forum, I'm going to try to avoid having voided villagers. Now I just need her to join... :)

Wow, I can imagine how hazardous that can be. If you are not careful you might never see any new villagers! Just the ones you pass back and forth.

I got my brother's voided villager a couple of times. 3 if I remember correctly. Phoebe, Gloria, and Fuchsia. Phoebe is for keeps, I was able to void Gloria, and Fuchsia caused a lot of trouble for me. I lost Diana in the campsite while trying to cycle her out. I couldn't take Diana in because my town was full :( I also lost Ankha almost after Diana. Last move ins are hard to kick out. When I got Fang, Fuchsia was te second to ping me and I was glad she's gone.

I streetpass my husband all of the time, and for a while there, we were "trading" villagers a lot. Giving/trading them away here is a great way to avoid that, and it feels nice helping people get a villager they're looking for.

i play with my sister and mom all the time. the only person who's ever gotten a voided villager is my sister who got my recently voided Winnie. she's still mad at me lmfao. i usually try to keep my 10 villagers to keep from getting any myself, but both she and our mom don't move out a lot of villagers.

My son and I always streetpass each other and always get each others voided villagers, he doesn't mind so much, he recently got Miranda and he's happy. I got Fauna from him in my old game, so sometimes it works out. A couple weeks ago he voided PeeWee and I did NOT want him!! LOL Was really happy I had 10 villagers then!

my brother and sister also play ac!! back in wild world, when villagers didn't need to be cycled through, we had two Bucks that would always move between our 3 towns and it's still a personal joke today B)

I have two sisters, so we're always getting each other's villagers. It gets pretty annoying sometimes because I don't see very many new villagers, just the ones from their towns. At least the extra streetpass helps with the badges, though!

My daughter and I also have two DS's and we street-pass constantly - She was very grateful for this though when she hadn't played for a while and came back into came to find out that her beloved Lucky was in boxes. :) I was able to pick him up and we'll be cycling back to get him into town.
On my end, there was the infamous Bubbles incident. She had voided Bubbles and I must have picked her up via street-pass. It's a good thing that I make a habit of starting each new day on a throwaway character just to ensure that Nook isn't sneaking anyone into town when it's less than full. Thankfully I was able to get a wanted villager in and that stopped her squatting attempts.
Always look on the sunny side. :P

I have 2 towns/games/3ds. In the beginning, I was always getting villagers from one of my towns moving into my other town because I was always moving things from one town to the other. Now that I'm not doing that much any more, I turn off my wi-fi switch (saves on battery also) when I play. I recently did get the final items to complete my catalog, but I need to take them to my other town, so they can catalog them also but I don't want a voided villager moving in. So I have to wait until both towns have 10 villagers to do so.

but looking at the bright side... you can sell your native fruit whenever you want in your daughter's town???
but yeah, that thing about the villagers, is a pain u_u
maybe disable wireless connection when you two are at home, and only enabling it when playing online or going out for streetpass??? lol idk

What exactly is the 16 villager cycle? I've seen it talked about, but I've never heard of it.

If a villager (Villager X) moves out of your town (be it adopted or voided), it would take a cycle of 16 villagers moving out of your town before Villager X could move back to your town again. So if Villager X ended up in your daughter's town through Streetpass and then moves out of your daughter's town, Villager X couldn't end up back in your town until after the 16 villager cycle.

Thanks! That's valuable information to know. :)

That sounds hard. I would turn off the streetpass. I live with someone who plays New Leaf, but they are not always home. And because I walk around with my 3DS a lot and I have 2 dreamies, I turn off the streetpass often.

Ahh I'd love a family member/and/or friend who played Animal crossing or at least had another 3ds (for me to steal for my second game mwhahaha). Though i can see the streetpass/voided villager thing could be a nuisance!

Enjoy the forum and hopefully you can get your daughter to join ! This was the first forum I joined in years and haven't regretted it ;)
