Hello, you may or may not know me from YouTube, but currently I am in the depths of searching for a piece of Animal Crossing lost media. And I usually reference this forum in my videos so I figured bringing the search to the community would help!
The gist of the story, is that the original photo of Brutus the Bulldog (the infamous urban legend villager that scared players from the early days) has been lost for a couple decades, and it has caught the attention of myself and other Animal Crossing fans. Given the villager's historical importance to the community and the intrigue of his appearance, we've been trying to find a copy of the original image.
Currently, after a collective effort with other viewers, we were able to locate what might have been the earliest source of the photo/photos. They were shared on the Animal Crossing The Fans Club MSN Group in the early 2000s. However, these threads are not accessible and the majority of users who posted in them are long gone. I'm wondering if anyone here was in that group back in the day, or would know the users from it?
Of note, I am trying to get in touch with Meltd0wn, who created the group and has an inactive account on this site. I could not find a direct method of contact for him anywhere online. There's also NintendoDad who was active in the community long ago, who might also have the image, as it was referenced in a GameFAQs post he made from 15 years ago.
I know this isn't the most impressive mystery ever, but it's a fun one that would be cool to complete after all these years.
