OK so there is a WWE shirt at Target I would get if not for the Ultimate Warrior on it. Aside from not being a UW fan, he seems out of place, as otherwise, it has all ‘90s guys (Stone Cold, Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels, Undertaker, and Eddie Guerrero) I mean, I know Warrior was active in the ‘90s, but…Idk. I could see if they had an even combo of ‘80s and ‘90s wrestlers on there, but that was…a choice lol.
Worth noting that even after all this time, Chyna remains the only female Intercontinental Champion. I’m sure there will be another, but still a cool fact.
Saw that The Miz is set to host another American Gladiators reboot on Amazon Video. I remember watching it in the mid-2000s (the first reboot), but I’m a little disappointed all the new stuff has to be on streaming.
My interest was already waning, as I had mentioned a few times leading up to WrestleMania, but my interest cratered soon after it. I was going to write a review back when it happened, but I couldn't be bothered to finish it. I followed along with the goings on for like a few weeks out of habit, but man. The "roast" hosted by Tony Hinchcliffe, the McMahon family's ties to the current president and the dismantling of the Department of Education, John Cena's unconvincing and boring heel performance, three hour episodes with barely any matches, that awesome SmackDown tag title match that got bumped off WM so the Viking Raiders could have a dumb tie-in with Crusader Kings, the ridiculous ticket prices, the TKO-ificiation of the product. I just can't go along with it anymore. I couldn't even get my self to watch Backlash even with the Cena-Orton history.
Shame about those releases that happened a while back.
Maybe I'll catch up on the John Cena Farewell Tour in December since I tend to have Peacock for some horror movies in October and some Christmas movies in December, but I've been cancelled for a while now. The Seth Rollins, Bron Breakker and Paul Heyman stable was kind of interesting from what little of it I saw. Kind of sucks to have quit after Jacob Fatu got the US Title too. But eh. I just don't have any interest in following of the product to any meaningful, sustained degree at this point.
